Off-Season Time in Las Vegas.

The VHLM Founder's Cup is in jeopardy for the Saskatoon Wild. They are down 3-1 to the Houston Bulls after a dominant game four performance from Nine and Hammer Voss. The defensive presence isn't there for the Saskatoon Wild. That was a humiliating performance and could be the end of any sort of momentum towards the WIld. Before this series, the Wild defeated the Reapers 4-2 to advance to the finals. The Houston Bulls overcame a grueling series with the Mexico City Kings. The series lasted seven games but they pulled through to the finals. The Mexico City Kings will be a team to watch out for next year. They have a great coach and a great team that's built on the foundation of dominating games. I didn't expect this performance from the Saskatoon Wild so far in four games, but perhaps this is the fuel that they need to try and complete the 3-1 comeback against Houston.

In the VHLE, the Cologne Express choked a 3-1 lead to the Rome Gladiators in the Renaissance Cup Finals. The momentum was shifting towards the Express and instead, they let loose. As a result, they suffered a difficult defeat to the Rome Gladiators. In-game seven, Raihan Heavens and Drakon Zabastovka won two huge games. Drakon finished the game with 1 goal, 2 assists, and 3 points. Heavens had 2 goals but 0 assists. They were the two players who helped this team complete the comeback despite taking fewer shots than the Cologne Express. Applause throughout for this Rome Gladiators team. They deserved this win. As for the Express, I hope they can learn and come back stronger because this should've been a championship year for them.

Finally, we reached the VHL. The Vancouver Wolverines have punched their ticket into the finals after sweeping the Los Angeles Stars 4-0. In the second leg of the conference finals, the Riga Reign and the Moscow Menace will go to a game seven after a 4-2 win by the Reign. They dominated Moscow Menace on shots taken as well. They had 44 shots to 24 shots. Alex Johnston had 2 goals for the Reign. Anze Miklav finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist. For the Menace, Hard Markinson had 1 goal and 1 assist but that wasn't enough to change the tide of the series as the momentum now shifts to the Riga Reign for game seven. The Moscow Menace will try to hold its ground and advance to the finals. The winner of this series will play the #1 ranked team in VHL (Vancouver Wolverines). Regardless of the outcome in this match, I have the Vancouver Wolverines as the champions this year. I thought the Seattle Bears was the best competition that the Wolverines had. Now that they are gone, everything opens up for the Vancouver Wolverines. The last two matchups the Moscow Menace has had throughout the playoffs ended in a game seven. If Moscow is to upset the Wolverines, It will be a tight series for sure.
