Warsaw traded up to take the 17 overall position in the season 83 draft, trading away their 22 overall spot, and 43 overall picks. The trade did not seem to be so significant, but it gave Warsaw the better player in Sock Monkey. Warsaw is looking for a playoff run so they are not looking to be in a rebuild like some other teams, so they aren’t looking for a player right now. There is a question why they might grab a prospect when they can use that pick for better, now players. The reasoning I see is that any team need to still have future player, rookies that can change a dynamic of the team that can make it. Warsaw has a good team, but there have been really good seasoned teams that got kicked out of the playoffs quickly in the first round. So having young players that can play in a future roll will give options for teams, and if those players stay active, the rookies can be beasts. Welcome Sock Monkey, great late pick.
