Napoleon Dynamite Prospect Scouting Report

There really isn't much that is known about the up-in-coming star Napoleon Dynamite. What we do know, on a personal level, is that he's a young kid who was bullied a lot in high school, he often exaggerates his stories, and he doesn't have many friends. However, when it comes to the world of hockey, we know quite a bit.

After sharing some interest in coming to the VHL as a whole, the VHLM Saskatoon Wild expressed great interest in the young center and added him to their roster. Dynamite became a Wild player near the end of the season, only playing 14 games during the regular season. During those 14 games, Dynamite didn't really show much promise, only securing 2 points for the entire time. He was a decent lower-tier player, but not incredibly essential. However, the playoffs changed it all.

During the S82 playoff run for the Saskatoon Wild, Dynamite played 5 more games than he did in the regular season. In these 19 playoff games, Dynamite had 6 goals and 11 points, blocked 10 shots, and had 3 game-winning goals. Where his light shined the brightest though was during Game 7 against the Houston Bulls. In this incredibly important game, Dynamite proved his worth by securing a natural hat-trick, allowing the Wild to capture the cup. It became quickly evident that Dynamite was of a new breed of young hockey players.

His success in the VHLM has allowed him to do something that has mostly been unseen, skip the VHLM draft. Dynamite, who has recently signed a Free Agent contract with the Bratislava Watchmen of the VHLE, will not play any more games in the VHLM, and is looking to grow quickly in the VHLE. S83 will be an incredibly important one for Dynamite. It's in this time that he will need to show off his skills and raise his worth if he hopes to be selected in the first round of the S84 draft for the VHL.

If Napoleon hopes to succeed in this new level of competition he's going to have to lean into his strengths and work on his weaknesses.

Strengths
Dynamite seems to be a natural goal scorer who works well under pressure. He's a strong center who is capable of winning a majority of the face-offs he takes, and he doesn't allow others to push him around while he's threading the puck through defensemen in the offensive zone.

Weaknesses
Dynamite has two things that are working against him. The first being his speed. This will be a crucial piece of his overall game if he wishes to do well this season. On top of that, Dynamite has a bit of an explosive personality, often taking unnecessary penalties and letting the heat of the moment get to him. Bratislava management is hopeful that some anger management courses will help him out.
