Hockey is a game played on a sheet of ice by men holding a piece of wood. This description is as true today as it was hundreds of years ago, before there were any professional leagues, before players were making millions of dollars to play the game, before the 66's and 99's. It's held true ever since someone slid across a frozen pond with a tree branch in their hands and a rock at their feet. It is a game that many have committed their lives to. A game which some eat, sleep, and breathe. A game which has captivated millions and millions of people worldwide. There is something truly timeless about the game of hockey. A magic which has driven it to popularity the likes it has never seen before, and a small part of that magic is contained within the soul of rookie sensation Jody 3 Moons.

3 Moons is at the forefront of his hockey adventure. After finishing his first season of playing professional hockey in the VHLM, the future looks bright for the young man from Ukraine. After being selected in the 3rd round, 25th overall, by the Bern Royals, 3 Moons has enjoyed a very successful first season. Passed over by many teams in the draft, 3 Moons found a home on the 2nd line of the Swiss outfit, and displayed a strong two-way game which VHL scouts have taken notice of leading up to the VHL entry draft.

The Bern Royals play in the European Conference of the VHLM. Over the past several seasons, the European Conference has been considered fairly weak compared to it's North American counterpart, and 3 Moons' rookie season was no different. Despite being highly outclassed by the North American VHLM teams, 3 Moons and the Bern Royals experienced considerable success this season. With an overall record of 37 wins, 32 losses, and 3 overtime losses, the Royals clinched the European Conference title with a 10-point cushion over their European rivals the Moscow Red Wolves. This victory was especially sweet for 3 Moons, as he had tried out for the Red Wolves in S38, but despite making the team was relegated to playing only a handful of minutes on their 4th line. The 77 points accumulated over 72 games was enough to lead the European Conference, but it wouldn't have been anywhere close to contend in the North American Conference where the Yukon Rush, who failed to make the post-season, posted 82 points.

Despite the extreme difference in quality between the conferences, Jody 3 Moons experienced a breakout rookie year with the Royals. He posted a career-high 43 goals and 60 assists for 103 points and a 1.43 point-per-game average. He provided a potent source of secondary scoring for Bern, behind senior players Devin Sundberg and Sam Keeler. He also got his share of ice-time with his superstar teammates and his chemistry with Sundberg, Keeler, and defenceman Kristian Stormborn on the Bern powerplay was uncanny. 3 Moons posted a team-leading 12 powerplay goals and was only 2nd to Sundberg in powerplay points with 27. 3 Moons also grew into the role of a face-off specialist for the Royals, posting a fantastic 57.25% face-off win percentage which lead his team and ranked 6th amongst the entire VHLM. His dedication to improving his offensive play and performance in the face-off circle has been a major factor in the increase of his draft stock heading into the S40 VHL Entry Draft.

Jody 3 Moons and his Bern Royals teammates now head into the S39 playoffs awaiting their showdown with either the Moscow Red Wolves or the Oslo Storm in the European Conference Championship. The Royals will be expecting nothing less than an appearance in the Founder's Cup Finals and with Jody 3 Moons leading the way, the possibilities are endless.

Nice job with this. I think its awesome that despite getting off on the wrong foot, you have really turned things around for yourself and are now a great rookie with a bright future. Bern certainly got a steal getting you at 25th overall.
