You are right, plenty of people of swear, but still isn't it quite hilarious for a pirate to speak to their mateys in a podcast, swearing 22 times during the process, then few days later they are cleaning the site for terms like ''porn sites''?  Look at the list I collected from the pirates podcast, compare some of the words to ''porn sites'', in your eyes ''porn sites'' is at top of the list?

I don't give a fuck about the shitty kids. I'm not that kind of motherfucker. I write bitch and asshole when I want. Is this the type of content you want to read on this site? Apparently it's fine in a podcast format, so I'm only guessing I can use at least 15 swear words in a 500 word media spot?

Immoral things? Have you seen how quickly he poached Sandstrom in front of my eyes because I was 1.5 hours late from my VHFL pick? And not only that, he also tried to delete my pick

I can't take coc seriously when I listen to moderators talk in a podcast like they are in a pirate saloon 350 years ago.

Like, not really? Follow the rules like the rest of us and they won’t have to clean the site for those terms. Just because people are swearing prolifically

As for that question, I’m OK with reading it. How you’d actually put that in an article and make it make sense is another question, because, personally, I’m of the opinion that podcasting and writing articles are very different things. But if you can make an article of you swearing every 10 words VHL-related, go for it.

For one, you’re almost certainly making a mountain out of a molehill (Also, if you pick on time, you wont have this issue). Two, you know exactly what I’m talking about when I said “immoral things.”

As for that last little part, you can take CoC seriously, you just choose not to. You keep doing that all you want, but that’s a very thin tightrope to balance on.

I mean, buying fake phone plans from robocallers is also something you should avoid, but it’s not against the rules either

I'm not really sure what the point of this red herring on cusswords is but please don't lose sight of the fact that sexualizing another member is strictly against the rules

Aside from that, I'm fine with a content advisory on content containing allowed, but not necessarily pleasant to everyone, words. I'd recommend:

I'm trying to think howmuch outrage would occur if cursing was banned.

Some of these rules appear silly when you can go ''all in'' on a podcast, that is all.

If a moderator can swear 22 times in a 15 minute podcast, I can use the same 22 words in a media spot. That is only fair. The podcasts and media spots are the same in that sense, sure it takes more effort to hear the podcast, but not by much.  (And if I'm honest, I thought at least few of those words used by fishy are something that gets you into trouble)

Pick between 8PM Easter Sunday and 8AM on Easter Monday, I miss that by 1,5 hours, your reply to that is: uuuu, pick on time. That is nice.

Oh please, sexualizing. This is what happens when you go recruit from a website that anyone over 13 can use. VHL turns into a playground. Hey I got an idea, instead of making the kids do point tasks here or in some other league, maybe you could hand out TPE if they do well in a exam at school?

I assume not much. Put the rule up and people will happily follow it.

Cursing and swearing isn't against the COC in particular. Any other books you'd like to judge based on their cover?

Parental Advisory some of my comment here contains references to sexual topics which may not be SFW and not suitable for underage people, hence I put it in the spoiler bracket.

Spoiler

I am playing devil's advocate here: words such as 'bitch' and 'motherfucker' do have a sexual component, unless I am hugely mistaken. And if used in an insulting manner (even when re-telling a story) is mostly used in the way it originally was intended to: the first to insinuate that a woman is promiscuous, the other to suggest that the targeted person entertains an incestuous relationship with their mother. I will not even go into the 'fuck' topic (which literally means 'to copulate'), as I understand that this word nowadays is used in so many other ways. So yeah maybe it would be advisable to replace such words with other, equally suitable swear words like 'stupid cow' or 'moron' to keep the content clean? ;)

To be honest, I did not listen to this particular podcast of fishy's and hence do not know the context in which these words were used.

Yeah, I don’t see anything saying that you’re allowed to use the same 22 words in an article. Nobody’s said you can’t, man.

Admittedly, that’s a tough timeframe and I confess that I woulda had a hard time, so I understand your plight. Still, rules are rules 😕

I also don’t understand why we have to focus solely on fishy’s podcasts (actually I do: Because apparently admins are above the law they make). But then Jardy, not an admin, also swears a fair bit, and he doesn’t get his stuff hidden, so what he does is within the rules. What you did was not.

Actually, sexualizing doesn’t happen, except in your case.

Personally I don’t think the solution to “overmoderation” is more moderation, which is where this rabbit hole would lead, if anywhere at all. It’s why I was quick to cut ties with the “Chodesode” title. Did I think that getting moderated was silly? Yeah a bit. Did I care nearly enough to fight it? Not at all, especially because I still want to continue a level of degeneracy without having a spotlight on it.

I don’t necessarily disagree that “sexual content” is unfairly frowned upon more than other mature content, like cussing and violence (I mean this generally in Western culture, not specifically with VHL). But there are lines and I find they’re better to tow and press rather than try actively try to bust. I don’t think the right to talk about people’s wieners is worth it.

I feel like this particular issue couldve been resolved if you just spoke to your vhfl group manager and maybe talked out a solution rather than making passive aggressive media spots.
