der meister 3,187
With an admittedly small sample size, the Istanbul Red Wolves didn't have a great preseason, being among the worst teams in the league. This was the first insight into how the new hybrid attributes would play out in the sim engine, and overall, I'm pretty happy with Ryuji Sakamoto's individual numbers. Last season in the VHLM, Sakamoto was above a point per game with no TPE assigned in Passing or Scoring. Call it an experiment, or role-playing, or whatever, but I was curious how it would translate. With the hybrid attributes, I've done the same thing, with a focus on defense, skating, checking, and a minor amount of puck handling, largely due to the association with defense in the Deking attribute and secondarily due to the Stick Handling attribute. Again, a small sample size, but in 8 preseason games, Sakamoto posted 2 goals, 5 assists, 36 hits, and 16 shot blocks. While it's not above a point-per-game, it's damn close, and the defensive numbers piled up in a big way, with Hits obviously being the frontrunner. Now that I'm approaching 400 TPE in the VHLE, I'll be curious to see what the end of season individual numbers look like. There won't really be much more development from Sakamoto this season, but averaging 2 blocked shots, 4.5 hits per game, all the while putting up roughly a point per game, should be considered a smashing success for an almost-completely defensive build. JardyB10 4,865
I love it, I'm looking forward to see how it pans out this season and once you start hitting your prime in the VHL. der meister 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/120260-brief-look-at-my-first-games-in-hybridlandia/#findComment-923147 Share on other sites
Shindigs 1,771
So far skating heavy seem pretty decent. Bo is actually built "skate first", nowhere near as extreme as your build, and without the physical aspect of it. But early signs are certainly good as Bo is currently sitting 2nd in the VHL for Dmen scoring as a rookie. I expect him to fall off a cliff any second now, to be fair. But still, it's a strong start for the "skate first" build.
