After an exciting season that went right down to the final seconds, the Lynx earned the VHLM's top record after a slow start in a display of resilience, execution, and, perhaps most of all, talent.  But, Ottawa was not able to accomplish this on their own - the Yukon Rush helped them out by taking down the Wild in overtime in the final game of the season, denying Saskatoon the one point needed to finish the season in a tie with the Lynx.  With this good fortune, Ottawa was able to earn a bye in the first round of the playoffs, allowing their players time to rest up and prepare for either the Wild or the Blades, both of which have all the ability in the world not only to battle the Lynx right down to the wire but to defeat the Lynx in a seven game series.

Ottawa will be hoping that the rest gives them the advantage and will propel them into the finals.  Reaching the finals, though, will take a team effort as everyone has to be on the same page.  Luckily, they have been having extremely productive practices of the past few days that have been highly encouraging to the team.  With scouts watching the current series between the Wild and Blades as well as heavy analysis of game film from the regular season, the Lynx have the tactical advantage over their opponent, which will be known within the next week.  This season certainly has note been nearly as easy as many thought it would be for Ottawa but for the organization, as long as it ends in a championship, everything went just as planned.
