There can be only One!

So after the on and only blockbuster trade on trade deadline sending Arvid Johansson to Chicago, something weird has happened. The other Johansson on the team, Bo. As well as his partner in crime The Board Game Clue On Skates, have apparently forgotten what points are. After having been on a tear for basically the entire season, learning that there was now another Johansson in town lead to confusion, that in turn lead to a drought of Ronan Lavelle proportions.

Not-so-Nice!

Now there is an alternate theory as to why the production fell off a cliff. Apparently Bo Johansson's agent made a mention of how Bo was about to hit 69 assists (nice!) around the same time the trade happened. And in typical Simon fashion he's only gotten 2 assists since. Sitting on 67 and just generally being annoyed at being FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY of this nice achievement he was looking forward to. Very rude of Simon, all things considered.

Meeting Expectations

Realistically though, the goal for Bo was to hopefully hit PPG in his rookie season, and he's already done that. So that is nice, it's just hard to not get certain expectations when the production is on pace for 100 points until around the 45 game mark or so. At that point you somewhat start to expect that it's going to keep on trucking, because if it's been consistent for that long, why wouldn't it? Maybe Bo is just doing the European thing that we see in the NHL all the time? Where European players have played 40ish game seasons their entire lives and suddently get put into a longer schedule and just run out of gas at the 40 game mark? Because that's a pretty common occurrence.

RIP in Pieces PP%

Part of it is also just down to our PP taking a nose dive as the season progressed, we stared off spending most of the first half between 23-27% PP conversion, now we're at like 16% or something. So that well dried up real good. With Bo being the top PP producer on the team last I checked, no longer having that outlet certainly doesn't help. Being a playmaking Defenseman he's also very much reliant on the sniper to actually score to get points. And BGCS is somewhat snakebitten of late. I think he's up to a 13 game goal drought or something like that? Sadly Sunrise van de Schubbekuteveen also appears to have gotten caught up in whatever Simoning is currently taking place. So that leaves no real scoring outlet for Bo to pass to right now. But hopefully this marks the end of this slump in Chicago, and we can get back to actually doing the stuff and things.

Also RIP in Pieces ROTY Dreams

For the longest time it did certainly look like BGCS and Bo would challenge hard for the ROTY, at this point I think that ship has very much sailed in favor of Tate. While we were on pace for 100 points, that was very comparable to a ~.930 rookie goalie. But now? Not even close, honestly if he doesn't win it I'm going to be very surprised. Because at least to me it just seems like a done deal.

Disagree with this I feel like it should be a tight vote between you and @Tate. While .929 is impressive it's less impressive when you consider where other goalies sv pct are and the amount of shots Van faces. Both really impressive rookie seasons with no disrespect to what @MubbleFubbles is doing as well. Don't think any player should be a shoo-in.
