Da Trifecta 1,899
Season 33 VHLM Champions Once upon a time there was this team called the Bratislava Watchmen. They were founded in the 31st season of the VHL. They were an expansion team along with the Yukon Rush. Now the Bratislava Watchmen had struggled over their first two seasons in the league before they won their first championship. I am here to talk about that championship team and what it meant to the guys who were on the roster. Some of the big name players that were on the team are, Davey Jones, Thomas Landry, Niklas Lindberg, Doug Clifford, Mario Corvia, Chris Bourque and Eggly Bagelface. Some of those guys went on to the VHL and have so far had success in their career. Bagelface has been the franchise goalie for the Vasteras Iron Eagles. Davey Jones went on to play one season for Cologne then he was traded to the HC Davos Dynamo. Thomas Landry played one season for the New York Americans before he was traded to the HC Davos Dynamo. Doug Clifford would head on to QC Muete. This team was considered an underdog all season long. They knew that they would have to fight their way to the top if they wanted to do anything. This was one of the most active VHLM teams assembled and GM STZ couldn't have been happier with the players he drafted. Everyone was so committed to becoming better that they would push each other to do better. All the top named players were active and were making a difference on this team. The team would go on to get 52 wins and match the amount of wins from the Kolari Panthers. Of course the Panthers won the top seed because they had loss less games. However, the Watchmen would go on to face a tough Vasteras Iron Eagles team (Yes I am talking a minors Iron Eagles here). This team would give them a run for their money but the Watchmen weren't stopping there. They managed to make it out of the first round and would go on to face the Panthers. This Panthers team was filled with such stars as Mikey Blade, Jarkko Olsen, Sebastian Ball Jr., David Collier and Evgeny Namestnikov. The Watchmen won 4 games to 2 to advance to the second round. During that final matchup for the European conference, the team would have to work the hardest they had all season to come out victorious. The Watchmen would drop their first three games to the Panthers and really had everyone worried. When game 4 came rolling around, it would be Mario Corvia who would lead the charge as he would score 2 goals and 1 assist to help the team win. They would go on to win the next 3 games and close out the series in game 7. The Watchmen would face their toughest challenge yet. They would have to go against the Brampton Blades for the championship series. The Blades had star studded net minder Steven Smyl patrolling their goal. The Watchmen had decided to take the series early as they would sweep the Blades in a manner that made everyone on the team happy. It was something that they never thought would be possible but they managed to pull it off. The Blades were a 53 win team and they thought they would have put up some fight. It just so happened that the better team had won that series and would go on to be the Season 33 VHLM champions. Guest Svoboda_3
Content: 3/3 587 words. A good synopsis of the Season 33 VHLM Founder's Cup Champions. Aside from the minor grammatical errors, this had more structure than your last Media Spot and the sentence flow was a lot better. A historical topic of proportion.Grammar: 2/2 are = were Muete = Meute loss less games = lost less games conference = Conference 53 win = 53-winAppearance: 1/1 Pictures, color and center alignment.Overall: 6/6>>12/12 (Historical Doubles) Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/12201-claimedreminiscing-on-some-champions-historical-pt/#findComment-120497 Share on other sites
