Quebec Addresses the Media

GM Frank Chadwick addresses the media after trades with Seattle and Cologne. 

 

Reporter: "How did the Seattle trade come to fruition and where does Wolf fit in with your club going forward?"

 

Chadwick: "We had quite a few conversations since the trade deadline, mostly regarding Bruno. Obviously negotiations weren't easy, but at the end of the day we're happy with the price we paid. Wolf is going to be a fixture on that top line going forward. As long as he wants to be here we'll have him. We really like the young core that we've assembled and now we'd like to add onto that." 

 

Reporter: "Many people including myself were in shock that you traded the 2nd overall pick in a deep draft, mind walking us through that?"

 

Chadwick: "Once we acquired Bruno Wolf, who by the way was a 2nd overall pick two seasons removed. We thought that with the core of Wolf, Yamazaki, Thomassen, Waldron, Azhishchenkov and Ali that it would be more beneficial to maximize our overall asset value for that pick. Basically we were happy with our core group and we now would like to add to that with veterans and players in their prime. I'm not sure when we'll start doing that but we have a lot more options then we did 2 days ago."

 

Reporter: "So are you done or can we expect any more trades before you step onto the draft floor?"

 

Chadwick: "Anything is possible."
