:veg: Joel Castle Acing His Starts :veg:

Rookie goalie Joel Castle has been solid if unspectacular in his five starts so far for the VHLM-leading Las Vegas Aces. Although he’s faced limited rubber due to Vegas’ top defense, Castle has provided quintessential backup duty by stopping enough shots to win against the VHLM’s bottom-feeders which is all the Aces need right now as they give No. 1 netminder Cory Evans @orbit some much-needed rest going down the stretch.

The diminutive Canadian puckstopper made his debut against the lowly Saskatoon Wild in the first of a home-and-home series stopping 18 of 20 shots in a 4-2 win. He would win the next game as well stopping 16 of 18 shots for the 5-2 victory. He played well in his next three games in wins against Ottawa (6-4), Miami (10-3) and San Diego (3-2) maintaining a perfect 5-0 record with a Top-10 2.60 GAA and a 0.862 save percentage. It will be interesting to see how he does against stronger teams and if he will get the opportunity this season or if he will have to wait until a tournament or next season.

And still a marginally better SV% than my goalie over in HN! You love to see it.😎 Btw Mr. Castle was part of a historical Aces game in that 10-3 win against Miami. It made the franchise leaderboards for all kinds of things, mostly goals, assists and total points by players in a game.
