llowing the S79 draft, in which Poopy Peepants was selected by Davos and Taylor Mourning was selected by Malmo, it looked as though their teams would be rivals for quite some time, given the ages of their rosters. Malmo won the Continental Cup in Mourning's rookie season, but neither team amounted to much outside of that with Moscow dominating Europe. While Malmo was at least able to stay competitive, the Dynamo never really put up much of a fight. After three seasons in Davos, Peepants was traded to Malmo, and he and Mourning have been on the same team ever since then.

Peepants played his one season with Malmo in what was Mourning's fourth season as a Nighthawk. Following S82, the team had little choice but to head to a rebuild. The pair were traded together to the Dragons, where there were high hopes of bringing the first Continental Cup to D.C. They did not fare well in S83, meeting a swift exit from the playoffs. Last season, however, they finished first in North America in the regular season. They were bested in the Conference Finals, however. As it turns out, that series-clinching loss to the Bears would be the last game as Dragons for Peepants and Mourning. Both of them had expiring contracts, and D.C. was keen on bringing in younger free agents.

Both Mourning and Peepants required a salary of $5.5 million, which made it a bit difficult for teams to fit them on their rosters. Several top tears were already pretty much full as well, so neither of the two saw a ton of interest. The New York Americans came into the off-season with a relatively young, but skilled, roster and a lot of cap space to work with. Mourning made a pretty quick decision in free agency to sign with the Americans, having garnered interest from just three teams. Peepants' options were limited as well, but he ultimately decided that New York was his best option as well. Their decisions were made completely separately, but Mourning and Peepants will continue to play with each other, making this the third team in the last four seasons for which they will suit up together.
