The VHLE season ended with a bang for the hoodie man. His team Istanbul managed to hoist the grandest prize of them all, the Renaissance cup. He did contribute a lot to his teams success, hence the best defenseman award he received yesterday.

This, however soon to be in the past as AK is about to make his VHL debut very soon. There were some questions about his role in Moscow's defensive lineup as Markinson is about to go all in his last season and Power is a solid defenseman on his own. Well...before he was traded to Vancouver. Now the situation is even more interesting, though some could argue it is on #92's favor. Markinson will obviously carry whole Moscow's defensive production, but then they will find themselves with three similar skilled defensemans. Which means AK may get more free space to actually have a decent rookie season, if not better. The forward lineup is pretty fine too so there is definitely a chance the Latvian hoodie lover will benefit from this greatly. Only time will tell though. I do expect him hitting fairly decent numbers for a rookie. Somewhere between 50-60 points, though I won't be that surprised if he can hit more. That obviously would be a welcoming turn of events.

As for da Hoodie himself. He had a nice time of celebrating his VHLE season. And it did affect his form a bit as he arrived to Moscow in...an iffy conditions, to say it lightly. The coach and GM, however were rather tolerant on this occasion. I guess they are watching E league too. In fairness AK92 managed to get in his best shape in a quick fashion so nobody had much issue about his looks during the arrival soon after. Also the quick side fact: the hoodie man doesn't like vodka so I imagine he won't be looking drunk too often in Moscow. The fans will for sure admire that mental stregth from his not knowing he just doesn't like this particular alcohol drink.

All in all, the Latvian defenceman is cautiously optimistic about the upcoming season. He knows he won't be the first option with the existing Markinson, but he is for sure ready for making an impact and maybe even try to fight for the rookie award. Though he did say in an interview with the local Moscow newspaper that he isn't focusing on awards as of now. Though I feel like this is not exactly true, but this kind of attitude gonna be welcomed among Menace's bosses.
