Calgary Wrangler Cowboy and Sheriff @Ricer13 put a lot of stock and faith into the young burly Brit, trading up to nab him at 3rd overall.

VHL experts say that he went higher than he should have, but the Knight Agency and Ricer both think he will be worth it before it's all said and done.

"He's a loyal guy," Phil Knight explains. "He will stay with the team that puts their faith in them for as long as they want. Money isn't the driving factor. He just loves playing the game and wants to stick it out with whoever gave him the opportunity to do so."

His opening part of his career has by no means been stellar, but it does show some great potential. In the 17 games played, he's still looking for his first career goal and only had 7 assists, but with a 5+ ratings and 38 hits and 28 shots blocked as a peripheral defenseman, he is already showing some quality.

Calgary are a highly competitive team this year with many players coming into their prime. This always means that the Rookies don't get as much ice time and specifically for defenders, they don't get the opportunity to hit and block a shot - but this is of no concern to Phil.

"It's fantastic to see so many of my teammates have break-out seasons," he said, "It just motivates everyone around when teammate after teammate keep producing. This is a great atmosphere to feed off!"
