Unfortunately for the Wolves, a few of their prostects have been lost due to inactivity. Namely Ratty Trepovsky (S83 48th overall, 175 TPE), Joshua Bolton V (S84 50th overall, 80 TPE) and Izaak Bobs (S84 37th overall, 165 TPE). Let's look at their active prospect, how are their doing this season and what's their realistic timeline to join the big league.

Nick Trash (C), S86 49th overall, 113 TPE
Playing their second full VHLM season, Nick Trash has been steadily growing into a pass-first center for the Saskatoon Wild. With 15-20-3 record, the Wild are struggling and are currently occupying second to last place in the Western Conference as well as second to last spot overall. With 15 goals (3rd on the team) and 30 assists (2nd on the team) in 38 games, Nick Trash is one of the bright spots on the team though, currently centering and leading the second line with two S87 prospects Ziggy Dupree and Zechariah LeFevre on their wings. Their +/- looks awful at -29, but this is more of a team stat that's completely understandable, considering how poor the 5-bot Wild defense is. On top of centering second line, Nick also centers 2nd PP unit and 2nd 4-man PK unit, and special teams are something the Wild are finding ways to be elite at, and Nick Trash with 7 powerplay points in 99 minutes is a part of that. Looking at Nick's development so far, they're probably gonna spend another season in the M before moving to E, where it would probably take 2 more season before a VHL call up.

Jens Lekman (D), S86 17th overall, 277 TPE
The towering Swedish defenseman is spending the season in Rome Gladiators, one of the top VHLE teams. With 23-12-5 record, the Gladiators are sitting in the second place in the league. Gladiators are one of the better defensive team in the league, which is definitely a good look for Lekman, who's double shifting on the second and fourth defensive pairs with Nicholas Blue, logging impressive 28.53 minutes on ice every game on average, including some time on both powerplay and penalty kill - the Gladiators rank 3rd in the league in both special teams. 26 points (8 of which are goals) tie Jens with their running mate Nicholas Blue for the 6th place on the team, 3rd among defenders. Even though Lekman is not really a physical player, they don't hesitate to use their frame to stop opponents when the situation asks for it, as shown by 77 hits. With 79 blocked shots, they're also not afraid to put their body in front of the puck either. Overall, Lekman is growing into a really, really good two-way defenseman with bright future in the VHL. They will probably start next season in the E, but don't be surprised if they deserve a call-up soon after that.

Wann Kerr (C), S86 9th overall, 316 TPE
Jens Lekman's teammate in both Gladiators and S85 Las Vegas Aces, Wann Kerr is really thriving in the E. They've started the season double shifting in the second and fourth forward lines, but has been recently promoted to the first and third lines, while also being one of the team's primary forward on both special teams. With the reputation of a shutdown forward Kerr has built in the VHLM and especially at the JST, it's not that surprising they're leading the team in +/- and leading all Gladiators forwards in blocked shots by a huge margin (20, the second highest on the team is eight) and in penalty kill minutes played. What is surprising is Wann Kerr's offensive output. The Czech center is currently leading the team in goals (22), shots (217), powerplay goals (6, 2-way tie) and is the author of the team's only shorthanded goal. Wann Kerr is set to start the next season in the VHL and grow into one of the better players in the league.

Love to see a great article like this!! Hopefully all three will play with the wolves in the next few seasons.

I've not tried a review of a media spot but lets give it a go!

I think the best parts of the league are the draft and anything that has to do with prospects.  New players are always happy to see others writing about them and their careers.  I appreciate you taking the time to do the research on each player and really going in depth on how they play and when we might see their debut in the big times!

Only thing I could suggest would be to @ the users mentioned in the article to let them know their player is on your radar.  Frank did it below but it is always fun to see your player mentioned!  Maybe add some color in the text as well.

It would be cool to see each VHL team do this as it would help drafted players know what their team might look like before they make the jump!

9/10!
