Game Recap: Vancouver 5, Chicago 2

Another week, another dumb trivia question that I got wrong. So let’s take a look at how the four seed Vancouver Wolves put themselves on the precipice of a surprise finals appearance. Although Cole Pearce has largely had a solid playoffs with a .929 save percentage, in this game the Brandt Fuhr and Vancouver got the best of him: Even though the two teams each had exactly 37 shots, the Wolves were able to put home 5 to Chicago’s 2. The Wolves’ five goals were scored by four players (Biggie Cheese had 2), but it was Dogwood Maple who took home the game’s first star with 4 assists and a +3 on the game. On the Chicago side, Bo Johansson’s 4 penalty minutes and -3 will make it a game to forget as well. Now, Vancouver needs just one win in the next two games to complete the improbable run from wild card team to finalist.
