hedgehog337 3,483
Just 11 games in so it doesn't matter much. Just some overreaction thing here. GOOD Last 2 games sucked, but a 7-3 record is nothing to scoff at. I know IR was worried about running with 2 defensemans, but I think this gave forwards more chances to shine. Might be too extreme, but for real. Why not. There is still a good time before trade deadline so it's always possible to switch to 5/3 or 6/3 if things don't go well. But I think it's worth to test the current setup. For a team that was supposed to grab another lotto pick. A 7-4 record is a pretty strong start. This result was mostly being done by the first line, DeGroot and Tucker. Things might cool down by mid season, though there is always a chance if I decide that we're ready to squeak into the playoffs and buy players. Also depends on rookies development and how quick it is. One thing for sure, we're going to the right direction. Vidot and Lamb So far this duo is putting numbers as it was advertised before the season. The lack of depth in forward lineup freed lots of space for these two. And it certainly works as both of them are finding themselves on the top of the points leaderboard. Good chances for either of them to grab a Szatkowski award. In Lamb's case, a Boulet too. If only the rest of the team was doing things. Defence I knew this is going to be their strength. But even with that I kinda under rated them. Looks like they are not interested to play around and will do everything to make the playoffs again. As of now they are second in least shots given (with Chicago only playing 10 games, so pretty much the best in SA). Time will tell if their offensive production is going to stay more or less decent. Regardless, their defence and Dusty are going to keep them in the fight until the end. BAD Yikes. Even excluding their unlucky loss to Riga things are just not great at all. Clueless Wallob is clearly playing...like a Clueless Wallob and most of the team is kinda lost so far. And once again my worry about Greg being a first defenceman is only intensifying even further. I think going with 6/3 but with Kovalchuk was a better option than what they're having now. I'm sure things are gonna get better, but I don't see them return to the last season form. Now this is just unfortunate. They're actually playing a fine game for the most part, but only 1 regulation win in 11 games is just depressing. Anything their offense is trying to produce is getting offset by countless penalties. As of now they're tied first in PIM's (with Moscow??? huh?) which is just not great stat to have. I think there is still a potential to enter the playoff fight, but this start is certainly going to sting. AK92 With da Hoodie FUCK YOU. 8 points in 11 games wtf are you doing????? That's it and I'm out. Spartan, JardyB10 and Scurvy 3 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/132776-11-games-in-good-and-bad-in-vhl/ Share on other sites
