Greg_Di 1,028
It has been a great start for the Vancouver Wolves as they lead the VHL standings with 33 points and a big help to this hot start has been the play of Henry Eagles. Eagles in his third season is looking to prove he can be a team leader on and off the ice but as well in the points department. While he is currently 5th on the Wolves in points with 22 (Leader Nezuko is at 28), Henry believes that by the end of the season he can crack that top spot. Henry has had a solid start to this season, so far he has 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points in 21 games and has already scored a hat-trick earlier this season. With his continuous training on improving his shot, we can only think that his goal numbers will skyrocket this season. "Everyday at training I am working on my shot, that has been my focus this season as I want to put up more goals and be our teams go to goal scorer " Henry said in a recent press meeting " I want the team to rely and trust on me to score when we need to score" Henry's goal for this season has been set at 90+ points and so far he is on track. He also wants to break the 40 goal mark this season which may be a bit harder to achieve but if you really think about it, he only needs 30 more goals in 51 games which seems to be achievable for this rising superstar. "It was a great experience winning the cup last season and in order for us to repeat as champions, I know I have to step up and be a better player" Henry continued " I have to live up to my first overall pick tag and the last two seasons, in my own mind, I didn't live up to being that player. This season is where I hope and expect things to change for me as I make a name for myself in this league and continue the Eagles long rich history of award wins" Henry, as of right now, is the only Eagles family member who has not won award but he is only three seasons in. We expect Henry, before he retires, to win a few awards during his VHL career. "While awards are always not at the forefront for me as I would prefer to help our team win Cups, I also cannot be the only Eagles to not win one " Henry continued " So the next two seasons I will be trying to win something, doesn't matter what award, I just want one with my name on it" Although he mentioned he wants to win awards, the current focus is to once again win the Continental cup and to tie his grandfather for most cups won as an Eagles. His father Tom, did not win any Continental cups. "Maybe if I don't win an award, I can win the most Cup's as an Eagles. Only need 2 more and I think we have the right team here in Vancouver to achieve this" Frank and Gaikoku-hito 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/132868-eagles-off-to-a-good-start/ Share on other sites
