Following weeks of speculation regarding Riga defender Tavish DeGroot, the defender has been dealt back to the Seattle Bears in a 3 way deal also involving HC Davos. Hovering around the point-per-game mark for the entire season, the two way defender has been shipped back across the Atlantic to join an offensively struggling Bears roster. The trade also saw struggling winger Florida Man dealt to HC Davos, who upgrades their forward position and offloads salary to Riga, who picks up draft picks in season 88.

DeGroot had this to say, upon arrival back in the Bears den: "I have a lot of great memories here in Seattle and I'm happy to be back to make some more. I'll always remember my time in Riga and the friends I made in the locker room but I'm glad to be back in a position to win another Continental Cup. Two gold medals and one ring isn't enough for me. I hope the hunger in the Bears locker room hasn't gone away in the time I've been gone."
