Greg_Di 1,028
Henry Eagles and the Vancouver Wolves suffered a heartbreaking and massive upset in the first round of the VHL playoffs against the Seattle Bears. The series loss not only ended a very successful season for the Wolves and Henry but also shattered any hopes of a repeat championship for the Wolves. "It was devastating to lose this series after the type of season we had, I don't know how the Bears did it, I think some PED testing needs to be done as those guys just performed on another level " Henry said while cleaning out his locker "We were not expecting that from them and we just didn't play to our full potential. Its disappointing, thats for sure" That being said, Henry cannot dwell on his emotions after the loss and needs to start looking toward next season and finding a way to improve and get better. Knowing Henry, he will take time to analyze his performance in the series which did not go very well for him. He finished with 1 goal and 2 assists for 3 points in 5 games which is his worst post-season outing of his career. " Yeah I will have to take some time and figure some things out about my game....People will question if we gave it our all and I can confidently say that we did, every player on this team played their hearts out but that's how hockey goes sometimes " Henry continued "I guess its back to the drawing board and figuring out how I can get better for next season" Henry will now have to find ways to stay motivated. After this tough series loss, it can be difficult for players to stay motivated and continue their training for next season, which seems so far away. The key is to stay positive and focus on the bigger picture of what he wants to accomplish in his career. Knowing Henry, this loss will help make him a better player by making him spend the extra time in training to keep getting better. Henry is known to being dedicated to his craft, which in the long term will help him become one of the top players in the league. "It's definitely not been the start I was expecting in my first 3 seasons but that will be a driving force to make sure the next 5-6 seasons in this league become better" Henry said "I put alot of expectations on myself and I don't believe I have met those yet. Next 5-6 seasons will determine that for me and I am dedicated and motivated to be the top player in this league" There has been no word yet from the Wolves management on their off-season plans but you can guarantee they are already talking and planning on how to compete and be better next season. Wolves need to focus on staying motivated in the playoffs as we have seen many times over that if you're the best during the regular season, that doesn't necessarily mean you will have success in the playoffs.
