I like the multi render design and it is clearly one of the harder designs to get right. Balance and sizing can be a challenge. It seems that you did a fair job with this as the background render is more of a ghost. A couple of things, in my opinion, could have been approached differently. Your text is very small and looks lost. Your gradient overlay seems to work but I would have put the text on the top and made it larger and lower. The NHL branding should have been removed.
