Shubham Anand's Busy Offseason

Loosing can be a painful experience. Right now it is Shubham Anand feeling that pain. He had fought so hard to rally the San Diego Marlins against the Mexico City Kings in the semifinal round of the S88 VHLM playoffs, only for that rally to fall short in six games. But as painful as that lose is, our Indian friend has no time to reflect on that pain. Shubham has a full plate ahead of him both on and off the ice. Here are most of the things on Shubham's schedule for the the comming offseason.

The first thing up for Shubham is something that he has been working on all season. He is finishing up a college degree. He has been working for an undergraduate degree in business management from an online university all season long. Shubham is excited to get this college degree over with and should have his diploma in hand before the playoffs are over.

Upon receiving his release from the Marlins, Shubham will be flying out with teammate Marty Byrd to the Junior Showcase Tournament as a member of the Steel. The Steel have a good team around Shubham and should have a shot at winning the tournament. Shubham is looking forward to the tournament and it should be an excellent opportunity to work out any ill feelings comming from the season ending.

Shubham will also be participating in the unofficial ProAm put on by some of the bigwigs of the VHL. Some of the teams seem a little strange, juniors like Shubham playing against some of the best of the VHL, but it is cool. The cutoff for joining the ProAm just past so selections should be sometime soon. Shubham views this strange tournament as an opportunity to prove himself to more VHL GM's going into the draft.

Also coming up is the World Junior Championship. This seems to be the furthest away of the offseason games. Only the managers of the teams have selected with no word on rosters yet. Shubham will be prepared to play for Team Asia until it is announced otherwise. Only waiting for news now.

All of this hockey leads to draft day and Shubham is a prospect in all three S89 drafts. Which means that Shubham will have to be ready for interviews from GMs or AGMs at any time in any place. This includes facing a quest he had no answer for currently. "Which league will you be playing in next season"? There are pros and cons to staying in the M and moving up to the E. Both options have been considered and it will likely come down to what happens in the VHLM and VHLE drafts that will help him answer the question. Shubham can't wait to have his his hockey future decided.

The business management degree isn't for nothing. It will be a major part of side project Shubham has had on his mind for years. Apparently there's financial help from his mother and others for this project. Also some app developers have been reported hired. Whatever this thing could be, rumors have it that it will be announced some time this offseason. A delay is possible, given how busy Shubham actually is, but look for it soon ish.

Shubham Anand is thankful to the San Diego Marlins to all management, teammates and fans for a wonderful season. It was a great time with a sad ending. But now that time is over. It is now time to prepare for a long and busy offseason that will change the future. That's everything said that was needed to be said. Good day all.
