game reCOPE: The Philadelphia Reapers complete the comeback and defeat the Kings in seven games! What an electric series I was definitely watching and a great storyline to tell my future kids about. With all three goals coming on a Reapers powerplay, we'll have to see how the Mexico City coach and management change their gameplan in the future season. Will they continue to goon it up, allowing 9 powerplays in the series deciding game, or will they change to a more disciplined form? Only time will tell!

Game Recap: Philadelphia Reapers vs. Mexico City Kings - Game 7 of the Founders Cup

 

In a thrilling Game 7 of the Founders Cup, the Philadelphia Reapers clashed with the Mexico City Kings in a battle for hockey supremacy. Both teams left it all on the ice, but it was the Reapers who emerged victorious in a closely contested match.

 

The Reapers came out strong, outshooting the Kings by a narrow margin of 32-29. This offensive pressure set the tone for the game, as they looked to capitalize on scoring opportunities throughout.

Dominik Kopecky proved to be a force to be reckoned with, earning the first star of the game. This was hands down one of the most thrilling Game 7 finishes that any season has ever seen.

 

The Reapers did well maintaining possession of the puck in the first period, outshooting the Kings 9-3, and cashing in late in the period on the power play to go up 1-0 heading into the intermission.

 

Mexico City equalized early in the second period, and battled back in a big way. A slashing call put the Reapers back on the power play, and the special teams unit didn’t let the opportunity pass them by. 2-1 Reapers entering period 3.

 

A penalty heavy third period lead to Mexico City scoring on the PP late in the period, pushing the game to OT.

After nearly a full period of overtime, Anthony Simmons found the back of the net on the power play to win the game and the championship.
