Game Discussion

As we've crossed the halfway point of the season, teams have now fairly firmly established their place in the league.  While the North American playoff picture is already becoming very clear, the European Conference appears to be a race that won't be decided until the final days of the regular season.

In our first game, we have a battle between the top dogs in the North American Conference.  While the Meute are trying to show they can hang with the Americans, they failed to do so in a 6-2 loss this week.  Bennett Wahl's 5 points carried New York to victory along with Odin Tordahl's addition of three goals.  This was a very disappointing result for the Meute who failed to keep up with their conference rivals all game despite Bruno Wolf supplying all the offense for the team.

Next we have a matchup between two teams who reaped the benefits of the strong Season 40 Entry Draft.  After playing an earlier matchup just days prior in which the Legion pulled off an impressive and surprising 1-0 victory of the Express, they were able to upset Cologne once again in a big 3-2 win.  Devin Sundberg's two goals led the way for the Legion as they managed to make their CPU goaltender look good once again.

Finally we have the game between the Riga Reign and Calgary Wranglers.  It took overtime to decide a winner in this tilt between two teams in the heat of playoff races in which the Reign were able to pull off the 2-1 win off a Brennan McQueen goal.  Goaltender Mike Szatowski Jr. was strong between the pipes for the Reign, giving them the win despite a Wrangler shot advantage.

TPE Earning

Head to the VHL Magazine, where all you have to do is select a series of numbers to win free player store cash or TPE!  More details can be found in the magazine and make sure to check back each week to see if you've won!

Media & Graphics

Head here to see travhave's interview with Calgary Wranglers captain Travis Boychuk!  He provides interesting information about the team and it's overall a must read!

As always, Victor's 40 in 40 series is excellent and edition 34 is no different!  This week's article discusses former VHL goaltender Skylar Rift.

Also make sure to check out Corco's mid-season draft predictions!  His in-depth analysis of each pick of the first round is very interesting and provides not only a nice introduction of potential draftees but of each team's current situation and their future.
