Gaikoku-hito 2,139
Trade Bouchard? Simple looking at the current standing and the general fact that they have brought in another All-star defense man in Brain Payne; who happens to be fitting in perfectly with the team. One must consider what options do the Vancouver Wolves currently have to improve their roster. By no means do I think they should trade Pierre Emile Bouchard but it could be an option for the team if they are looking to add more defensive depth and trying to improve the team’s current record. Wouldn`t it makes more sense to trade Payne? After giving up assets to bring in the All-star defender; really wouldn`t make sense to trade away what is currently your best defense man. He leads the team with twenty-nine points, only one of three players with a positive plus minus and is simply grittier than Bouchard with more PIM, hits and doesn`t lack that much in defensive ability. One could argue he is better at both ends of the ice compared to Bouchard at the moment. Let`s also not forget that Bouchard should be more interesting to other teams with his current contract and years remaining compared to Payne, one would assume would fetch more value if traded. What would a trade look like if Bouchard was traded? I can assume that Vancouver would be looking for at least two younger defenders and either a prospect or pick coming back in return; which is a very high asking price for any team. Reality of the matter, Not trading Bouchard doesn`t make sense for the Vancouver Wolves as he is currently only defender signed next season to the team and with around ten million in salary cap should be able to continue to build around either Bouchard or Bouchard and Payne next season while replacing the retiring Nico Pearce. So, what should the Vancouver Wolves do to improve their current roster and standing? Well, that is a question for another time as we are talking about should they trade Bouchard so maybe next time we will look at Vancouver options but not today! Scurvy 1,554
NO! Trading Bouch makes zero sense !! Payne will slow and Bouch will take off. Just hoping we can not take off and start tearing it up ! Gaikoku-hito 2,139
I think it makes no sense to trade Bouchard but I needed something to write about and was looking to blame someone for the Wolves slow start. Can blame Fuhr or Bouchard as both have struggled a bit this season but both are tied at the hip. We are trying something new with the D pairing and it has seemed to pay off so far as we are 4-0 since the change. Not to mention Bouchard has finally woken up with multiple point games in three of the last four games. Payne & Bouchard have been leading pair we expected them to be during these games as well.
