The rumour mill was turned up to full volume on Sunday after Seattle Bears forward Yaroslav Bogatyrev left training with what appeared to be an upper-body injury. The Russian forward, who is one of the leaders on the Bears, left training 20 minutes in after clashing with a team mate in the corner. Observers said that they saw Bogatyrev leaving the ice under his own speed while favoring his right shoulder.

“We can confirm that Yaroslav Bogatyrev left training on Sunday with an injury. He is currently being examined by our training staff, and we will make a report at a time convenient to us to update on his status. He visited hospital but was discharged on the same day,” a representative for the Seattle Bears said.

Bogatyrev, who often refrains from commenting to the media outside of the practice rink, posted an Instagram story on Monday that gave no indication as to us current status. The Russian forward, born in Nizhnii Tagil, entered last season following a wrist injury picked up during preseason. He had surgery on his wrist, but there has seemingly been no subsequent flare-up, given that he has not missed a game all season.
