The text look fairly plain but it has some character behind your top layer. A couple of things catch my attention. The NHL branding is a bummer for me. It looks really dead on the bottom of this graphic. It seems like you could have brought the render down/larger and it would get rid of the overly large dark bottom. This is just my opinion and have to complain about something. I like the background and the effects you used on this project.
