Claimed:Denis Up in the Air [6/6 FINAL]

Recommended Posts

Denis' Struggles Continue.

The second year in your career is seen as the most important because of the growth you show. Most players improve beyond their rookie year in the VHL, and yet for Milos Denis, there has been little to no improvement thus far. Despite being given top line minutes and skating alongside two of the leagues top offensive players, Denis has been stymied all year and currently sits last on the team in scoring with 7 goals and 13 assists for 20 points overall. The small in stature winger struggled last year too, although it did end with him scoring the cup winning goal in the finals.

Since being drafted late in the first round in Season 39, Denis has been linked to a move to the European Conference. Some theorize that he would thrive in a different environment, and yet here we are, in Season 40, and he remains a member of the Americans. With only one year left on his rookie contract after this one, the Slovakian player is poised to make a big decision soon. With the Americans current core aging and depreciation coming sooner rather than later, some are wondering if Denis will be on the move by season's end, or if contract talks are ongoing. As per his agent, there have been zero contract talks thus far, although those are rare during the season.

Denis has had little to cheer about this year, or in his career.

The most likely destination for Denis is probably another European team as it is unlikely, if traded, that New York would move a young player within the conference, although not impossible of course. The other question is the one of what is the young players value? He has not lived up to his potential just yet and has not shown much promise to break out soon. That said, he is still only in his second year of eligibility, so his value is likely higher than one might imagine. An early 2nd or late 1st to a team looking to add solid and cheap depth is not out of the question, although many team will likely wait until the 22 year old winger becomes a free agent to make their move for him.

Despite all the struggles, Denis has remained a topic of talk casually throughout the year by pundits who believe he still has the potential to break out. Many believe he is reminiscent of Logan Laich, a player who New York traded when he was struggling a few seasons ago. There have never been any serious rumors yet and with another trade deadline come and gone, Milos Denis will be an American for the time being.

Denis future is up in the air at this stage.

With very minimal improvement so far in his career, Milos Denis is already starting to look like a player who will be one of the bigger what if's in VHL history. Obviously there is still time left for the pint sized winger, but if improvement doesn't come quick, he could be out of the league sooner rather than later.

Content: 3/3 - Denis needs to keep driving away and he'll come around, don't settle for Logan Laich 2.0!

Grammar: 2/2 - I feel like the commas were overused, not wrong, but perhaps inefficient.

Appearance: 1/1 - Looks good!

Overall: 6/6
