Bojovnik 487
The trade deadline is on the horizon, and once again the talk turned to the future of Yaroslav Bogatyrev. This time each season, the rumour mill often sprung into life as the Russian forward considered his future. This time round, with the Malmo Nighthawks, was no exception. Since joining the Swedish side, Bogatyrev has made a major impression. He has spent most of the season in the Top 10 goal scorer charts, and has been a crucial piece of Malmo’s recent success that has seen the team shoot up the charts to first overall. The Nighthawks form appears to be dipping somewhat, giving space for others such as the Riga Reign to catch up, but spirits were high on Thursday as Bogatyrev signed a two-season contract extension. “I’ve enjoyed every minute being in Malmo, and I’m delighted to commit my future here,” Bogatyrev told reporters on Thursday. “I really think that the Nighthawks have a chance to compete for a cup this season, and signs are good that we can continue this form providing that pieces stay in place. I wanted to show to the other members of the team that I am committed and I’m willing to stay and make Malmo a challenger,” he added.
