At the junior level Schwartz dominated, posting 36 goals and 62 assists in 48 games. He possesses good size at the center position, 6’1” 193 lbs. He has decent hands with the puck but tends to lose concentration at times and mishandles occasionally in the neutral zone. He makes up for these flaws with his incredible skating, breakaway speed and a powerful wrist shot. His best ability on the ice is his ability to set up his teammates. He had a great rapport with his teammates at the junior level, with an uncanny ability to seamlessly hit his teammates in the perfect spots. He also excels when making breakaway passes up to his wingers. He lacks effort and aggression on the defensive end, but with the coaching staff in Houston he should be able to develop into a solid defender. The major knock against him the effected his draft stock was his level of competition, but make no mistake he passes the eye test and has all the attributes you want from a player who will make things happen in the offensive zone. Nathan Schwartz projects to be a force offensively at the professional level. His ceiling: MVP.
