World Juniors Team Europe Round Robin Recap.

 

In the first game of the World Juniors Championship round robin for Europe we would see a nail biter of a game between them and team Canada it would end 5-4 for Team Canada being led by a three goal one assist performance by Nathan Ecker. On the other side we Europe had solid performances from Annie Oaks putting up two goals and Dan Jr who put up the other two goals for Team Europe. After dropping game one of the tournament Europe would then have to put it behind them and look to their next match.

 

Game two would see team Europe and team World go head to head Europe would get a huge performance from goaltender David Slezak who would stop 42 of 44 shots. Annie Oaks would put up another two goals with Vanuza Kolesinka, Antonia Bucatini, and Scrungle Bungle each adding one goal to give Europe to give them a 5-2 victory for their first win of the tournament. Piston Maicupp and Taylor Swift were the goal scorers for team World with goalie Jorgen Lovstrom stopping 46 of 51 shots. Europe will be looking to build momentum off this big win.

 

Game three would see Canada and Europe rematch, Europe would out score Canada in the first period two to one with goals coming from Maverick Goncalves and Antonia Bucatini with Wayne Gretzky scoring Canada's goal. There would be no scoring in the middle frame and then The Phantom of the VHL would score an insurance goal for team Europe midway through the third period to give them the two goal lead. Aleksanteri Kaskiniemi-Kekkonen would stop 30 out of 31 shots to help them to a 3-1 win. Herald Benson was stellar in the loss for Canada stopping 50-53 shots but Canada couldn't get the offense they needed and Europe gets revenge for game one.

Game four was Europe agains team USA each team would put up two goals in the first period to go into the second tied  but Phil Taylor and Vanuza Kolesinka would each add a goal in the second for team Europe to propel them to a 4-2 win over USA improving their record to 3-1 in the round robin and looking to keep their win streak alive.

 

Game five would see Europe go up against team World and they would get six goals from five different players in this game that would help them to a big 6-3 win keeping their win streak alive at four games.

In game six team Europes top line would dominate scoring three of their four goals in the 4-3 win over team Asia. Maverick Goncalves would lead the way putting up three points while Annie Oaks and Antonia Bucatini would each add a goal and an assist for Europe to improve their win streak to five games.

 

Game seven is a rematch of last game and it's the same story just with better defense for Europe each member of the top line for Europe would score a goal and add an assist helping their squad to a 4-1 win over team Asia for their sixth win in a row.

 

Game eight and the final game of round robin play would see Europe match up with team USA this would be a tight game that would be won 2-1 with Annie Oaks eighth goal of the tournemant to improve their win streak to seven to end round robin play.
