LucyXpher 1,337
Okay, I know it's not VHL related, but I'm not claiming any TPE for it and this was too exciting not to share-- plus it gave me a reason to repurpose my GM graphic for something actually important (which was sorta the secret plan all along)! Jessica Campbell was just announced on Wednesday as an Assistant Coach for the Seattle Kraken! After a couple seasons as an assistant for their minor league affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, Campbell earned the promotion after the recent hiring of Dan Bylsma as the Kraken Head Coach. Being named as an NHL assistant coach makes her the first woman in history to be hired to a full time NHL coaching position! This is such an exciting and important hire for women in hockey-- and hockey as a whole, for that matter! It's not only a huge milestone for the game, but a hiring that will, no doubt, inspire future generations of young women and girls to get involved in the sport in all aspects. I know for myself, her story really resonated with me and stuck with me since I read about her a couple years ago so if you don't know much about her yet, I highly recommend looking her up as I'm sure you'll be hearing more about her over the next number of years! Thunder 1,136
Graphic Review Gotta do another graphic review thanks to a screwed up trivia question! At first glance the graphic looks rustic and really good. The person is the focus and everything around it tells the story. I look at the graphic and see that it is well done and it appears you spent some effort making this graphic to send a message. I like the face and her looking into the sky sending the message that the sky is the limit and this is only the beginning. The Seattle Kraken logo on the right is a good location due to the colors as it blends nicely with the rest of the graphic. As far as the lettering, you choose perfect fonts, sizes, and placements. You start out with importance, her name. Then you have her job, and finally you provide the success. Everything about this fits into place and its a really good graphic. Well done. Score 10/10 On a side note, when I first heard on the news about a woman landing a coaching job with the Kraken, I had to rewind it and see who it was because my first thought was that she might be the skating coach from Vancouver I know. Wasn’t her though!
