ScottyP 200
Rip Wheeler wasn't your average hockey player. Sure, he could slap a puck with the best of ‘em. His wrist shot was a thing of legend in the Victory Hockey League. But it was the nights off the ice that truly defined the man. And when the puck dropped on a Vancouver road trip, all bets were off. Beside him was Logan Ninefingers, a name as infamous as the missing digits on his left hand. They were a pair, a dynamic duo of grit and guile, their bond forged in the crucible of the locker room and the darker corners of Vancouver’s nightlife. The city was a neon-lit playground for these two, a place where the lines between hockey player and outlaw blurred. Their nights were a symphony of whiskey, women, and whatever chaos the city threw their way. Top-shelf whiskey was a staple, a smooth burn against the raw edge of their lives. It started innocently enough, a quiet dinner at a dimly lit steakhouse. But as the night wore on, the whiskey flowed, and the world outside seemed to fade. The once respectable establishment became a battleground when a drunk fan dared to challenge Rip's skill on the ice. A chair flew, a jaw cracked, and suddenly, the quiet dinner was a full-blown brawl. Logan, ever the opportunist, was there to lend a hand, or rather, nine fingers. The fight was over before it began, the offending fan reduced to a quivering mess. When the dust settled, they were escorted out, laughter echoing in the wake of their departure. Their next stop was a seedy bar, a place where shadows seemed to have a life of their own. The music was loud, the drinks stronger, and the clientele a colorful mix of locals and tourists. It was here that Rip met her, a fiery redhead with eyes that held the promise of adventure. The night was a blur of pool, cheap beer, and endless flirting. Logan, ever the wingman, provided comic relief with his questionable dance moves and even more questionable pickup lines. By the time the sun began to peek over the city, they were stumbling out into the fresh morning air, the night a distant memory. These were the nights that fueled the legend of Rip Wheeler. They were tales whispered in locker rooms and bars, stories that made him more than just a hockey player. He was a survivor, a fighter, a man who lived life on his own terms. And with Logan Ninefingers by his side, the world was his oyster, or at least, his shot glass. But as the sun rose, casting long shadows over the city, Rip couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to life than endless nights of debauchery. Maybe it was the whiskey talking, or maybe it was the quiet voice of reason buried deep within him. Whatever it was, it pulled him back to the ice, to the roar of the crowd, and the simple joy of the game. For now, though, there was still a night to finish. Another whiskey to savor, another story to be written. After all, a legend was never built on sobriety. Gaikoku-hito 2,089
I was just thinking of @ScottyP recent trip to Vegas when he mentioned "a fiery redhead with eyes that held the promise of adventure." Also may I mention no one back in my day when as a tandem as you always needed the small, annoying puppy like friend to usually get the conversation started while the other one loosens the mood with corny and questionable pick-up lines; right @Thunder!!! I`m Mrs. Rip Wheeler Thunder 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/150543-rip-and-niners-take-on-the-town/#findComment-1035623 Share on other sites

It was a rat he found in the alley that was covered in pizza sauce. Rip is a scavenger.
