Rip Wheeler is coming out of a record breaking season for the Vancouver Wolves and during the off-season, he was asked by the genius general manager, Frank, to switch from a dangly armed winger to a bow legged defender.  Either Wheeler was completely obliterated and didn’t understand the change asked of him, or he showed his selfless ethic to do what’s best for the team.  I’m going with the latter.

Nothing has changed with Wheeler’s style of play.  He intends to get out there on the ice and continue to do what he do, play some good hard bumble bee hockey.  Rip Wheeler got hit hard with depreciation but he still managed to create a solid build and the team looks forward to this new offensive defenseman to dominate the blue line keeping the opponents away from the net, and on offense he’s likely to take advantage of those Gumby arms and build up some serious speed on his slappers.

Last season it was up to Riley Martin to keep the bottle out of Wheeler’s reach and now that Wheeler is on defense, that responsibility has fallen on Guntis Gavilrovs.  Gavilrovs is not as patient as Martin and will likely smash a few bottles over Rip Wheeler’s head making it a self correcting problem.

I was think of a different situation when I read the title:

ie. Pranked by Trueno as the two discussed going to a doctor about Wheelers head injuries but when Wheeler booked the appointment it wasn`t with a neurologist but instead booked an appointment with a urologist with the change forcing him to skate backwards for the remainder of his career due to the swelling so the switch to defense was made to try to save Wheelers career!! 😁
