VHL Lore: Myself and my goof up

I joined this site back in 2019, I was working at a Tech Store for minimum wage, Drinking Heavily and partying hard. When I wasn’t spending my free time doing one of those 3 I was at home with the girlfriend trying to keep myself entertained, I ended up finding this site. I don’t exactly remember how but as someone who briefly studied journalism in High school and was a big hockey buff it seemed like a natural fit. I started off with Alex Pearson, my most successful player to date. He Joined the San Diego Marlins under the GMing of InstantRockstar and was a slow starter, but really took off the next year in Philly on a stacked team, that got bounced in the playoffs. I was then drafted to Helsinki but ultimately picked up in the expansion draft for the Prague Phantoms! Prague was fun, I was a few friends and had a nice career with 350 Points in 504 Games. After Pearson I ended up creating Ryan Ryker, a speedy right wing who played for Houston and Miami, he ended up playing in Seattle, but I ended up going Inactive due to work and life stressing me out, and after that is when things went sideways.

 

I had a roommate at the time who I managed to get into the site so I could get some recruiting TPE, he used the account sparingly for his first player, but lost interest during his second, which were both goalies, Colin Conklin, and Toppi Aittokallio. After that he told me he wouldn’t be using his account anymore, so I took the password and recreated a player. I wasn’t aware what I was doing was actively breaking VHL rules but I knew it probably wasn’t smart, I was just Bored and in a bad state mentally. Eventually everything came to a head and I was found out, given a slap on the wrist (Thankfully) and allowed to continue with my player’s career. But the embarrassment of being caught doing something so stupid stung, and I backed away from the VHL for a while. I tried to come back number out times but was never able to stick to it. Ended up creating 7 players in a few months time in a desperate attempt to regain my interest, but it failed. Resulting in numerous players never doing anything, and wasting valuable carryover TPE.

 

 

After forgetting about this place for a while and getting life back on track and finding out I’m having a daughter, I ended up finding an old Graphic I never posted, and it resparked my interest! I’m now on player 9 with the lore of Alex Pearson’s Son James trying to continue the family legacy and I’m really enjoying it, If I had more free time I would definitely be doing more point tasks but such is the life of an adult, I’m pumped to see where James will end his playing career.

 

Already did welfare this week so will be closing this Next week, ending November 17th
