1000, with who knows how many more to go?

It’s been great to watch some great members reach some great milestones recently. It’s wonderful to see @LucyXpher hit 1000 on their first-gen career, @scoop hitting 10000 across a number of illustrious careers.

 

It feels great to have crossed the 1000TPE mark for my second time. To be able to have had such a great season, even if it ended today, before the 1000TPA threshold is pretty great, and I’m excited to see how worthless every TPE I earn from now on will be.

 

I’ve been razzing Spartan a lot recently, but I was never really planning to challenge for a TPE title again, but I’m on pace to come close again, so why not. The team in Moscow is incredible, and the internal competition is something I’ve never gotten to experience. Grape has me fighting for every second of ice time, and both forward lines are stacked to the brim with scoring potential. Leandro has been pushing my assist game all season, and on top of that my TPE game. Every week I get excited that I’ve pulled ahead, and then by Friday I’m behind by one of two TPE again. And so I spend the next week plotting how I’ll pull ahead. I finally outperformed Leandro in Fantasy last week so maybe I’ll hold the lead for a couple weeks.

 

But that’s what makes this all so fun for me. I know I can cruise control my way into being one of the top players on any given team. I just have the sim league itch bad enough that I can’t imagine a world where I don’t get my capped TPE, even on my deathbed. Sure, I’m not doing as much research for Fantasy Zone, and my VHFL picks were something strange for sure, but I’ll get TPE for them, and I’ll show up every week. But getting to compete against others sharing my itch, who also live and breath TPE, who also want to push their team, and ideally our mutual team, to the pinnacle of success, that’s the real stuff.

 

I think there’s a world where I could go seasons without looking at any other stat other than TPE, and be happy. Working towards my build, hoping and praying that this one will move me one step higher up the leaderboard. Learning, analyzing and hypothesizing about STHS, and being 20% wrong 60% of the time, before getting myself so confused I restart. Making Excel sheet after Excel sheet, trying to figure this thing out, all to get myself on the top of the game.

 

So as I prepare for Free Agency, I look around the league for those teams who share the internally competitive spirit I’ve come to hold so dear in Moscow. I’m sure I’ll be a hot commodity, and that’s fair enough, I’m a young defender who should be pushing 1100TPA by the time they get their hands on me. But I’m not easy, and the bar has been set really high. There are a lot of cards to be played yet, and while Moscow and I try to win this thing, other teams will have to prove that they can out-compete the Menance.

I've got the itch as well and because of it I have to plan so far ahead for the TPE I will be earning!  I need a nice buffer built up before I recreate as my weekends are now our of question for most tasks and with work being busy I have even less time during the week.  I need to max earn again but I need less stress while doing it!  No more week to week!

Yup! I've been sorely lacking a buffer on Woods, so I'm less proud of my content, but I think I gained a lot on Wolanin by having a 3+ week buffer, and I doubt I claimed at least 25% of the TPE I could have. Taking the pressure to create off allowed me to create content I'm more proud of!

This is exactly the same with me.  I want to do bigger projects but the week to week cuts into that so with the significant buffer that I have been building I can work on more video edits and things of that nature with an active player.

Also, speaking of Lucy and myself, crazy to think that one of you may not be on Team USA for the World Cup this off-season, unless defenders can be played at forward for the World Cup. Stone and Calaway should be locks, which would leave two spots for Mina, Leitner, and yourself.

Even right behind with Hardy, I don't think many teams have a 900+ TPA player 2 spots out of a roster spot

Ironically the 1000TPE, at least to me is pretty much the missing middle class in the VHL. Not enough of the member base is earning 8-12TPE per week for their entire careers. We have plenty of 12+, and we have plenty of 7-, but that really is our largest gap.
