Goalie legends Joel Castle and Ash Sparks spotted at the ProAM tournament

Recommended Posts

S96 has come to a close and that means it’s time for many to prepare themselves for the S97 draft. In order for many players to stay sharp during the off-season, the VHL and VHLM collaborate in an off-season tournament called the ProAM. The tournament is a great opportunity for many VHLM rising stars to showcase their skills in an environment with some of the best active VHL players in the league. While that is normally the case, this ProAM had a special surprise in-store for the fans and players alike! Many have witnessed a few recently retired VHL legends come out of retirement to compete in S96’s ProAM tournament! We recently spotted an interaction between to recently retired goalies. Toronto Legion’s legendary goaltender, Joel Castle @animal74, was spotted with Malmo Nighthawks iconic goaltender and former Captain, Ash Sparks, gearing up together for the first time since their time as a tandem for the Geneva Rush 10 seasons ago! We still have no word on if they will be on the same team again and that is most likely not going to happen, but it’s still a sight that not many of us would ever expect to see again like this. It certainly has many goalies and fans going crazy with excitement for this rare occasion. We also witnessed Druss Deathwalker, another fabled Malmo Nighthawk who’s jersey hangs in their rafters, was sitting next to Castle and Sparks making for a phenomenal sight to behold for many fans. This is an incredible opportunity for some of todays best players to learn from some their idols, and will definitely be an exciting experience for us all to witness!

Looks like we're on opposite ends of the rink again, my friend!

Yeahhh sadly it was to be expected with Castle and Sparks arguably being the 2 best goalies in the tournament😂 but it should still be a fun experience to see these 2 old friends step on the same ice again!
