The Vancouver Wolves are coming off an outstanding season, still riding high and celebrating the championship cup.  Everyone is enjoying the tight fight with Davos and recuperating from the hard fought playoffs.  While the team is celebrating, GM Frank and AGM PMB are hard at work looking on a means of filling empty slots by bringing in the right players to jump right into season 97 as contenders to repeat.  Balancing the team with the right players is critical and the salary cap is causing issues to start the season, but Frank pulled off an incredible trade with the DC Dragons, giving up draft picks for two up and coming superstars on defense.

Einar Matheison, is a big solid defender who one would think would be a defensive defenseman with the number of hits he’s given in the VHLM, but Matheison was on fire last season totaling 87 points.  Granted two thirds of his points are assists, indicating that he’s going to clean up the ice behind the blue line and hand the puck over to stud goal scorers like Logan Ninefingers and Riley Martin, or PMB and Matteo Stefano.  It doesn’t matter who Matheison passes to, there is sure to be a goal tacked onto the stat.

Scribble Bungle, another big defenseman, completes the defensive lineup this season and like Matheison, Bungle has the skills to pass the puck at ease and provide some good apples to the scoring machines.  Bungle adds some toughness to the defense as he likes to block shots and get in the way of the other teams and knock them down.  Bungle had a stellar career in the VHLM and is on a path to be a genuine legend with Vancouver.

Only Frank knows who will be paired up with Girts Gavilrovs and make it a dominating defensive force keeping the opponents away from Soju; or who’s going to match up with Bollos de Trueno to add some spark to the defense and try to get Trueno to man up and drop the gloves.

Frank and PMB still have a little work to do if he plans on completing the lineup with a couple of forwards to complete the lines up front, not to mention a substitute goalie to help give Soju a rest now and then.  With only $5,000,000 remaining in the cap, it appears that Frank is going to have to continue to seek out some magical maneuvering to complete the roster.

Some may think this is quite the predicament for the Wolves, but Frank seems to relish moments like this.  This is exactly where he shines.  To find the right pieces to fill in the puzzle and make the best team and lineups to be a contender year after year and to dominate.

For those of you wondering what is going to happen, stay tuned because there is no doubt that something is in the works as I’m writing this and possibly as you are reading this.

And finally, now that Rip Wheeler is off the team, Frank doesn’t have to spend all his time babysitting.

This statement about @Frank could be more true!! He pulled that first trade with D.C. seemingly out of nowhere!! 🔥
