dstevensonjr 460
Toronto Legion Captains S97 Edition The theme of the Toronto Legion captaincy for S97 can be summed up in one word: Seniority. There is a trend with the three players who were voted to be the on ice leadership group for this season, and there aren't many surprises before the inevitable changing of the guard that is coming. Assistant Captains #74 Diego Machado @Dadam30 The seventh and final season in the VHL for Diego Machado, all of them have been spent here with the Legion. His importance to the organization on the ice is reflected by the fact that he's bordering on the top 10 in several Legion career stats ranks, and will still be counted on this season to make an impact on the scoresheet. Off the ice, Machado has been a leader, already wearing an "A" last season. His leadership continues in his managerial capacity, as the GM of the VHLM's Saskatoon Wild. It comes as no surprise that he was an almost unanimous choice to be one of the captains of this seasons Legion roster. #21 Walter Fitzroy Jr. @Moon Seven seasons in the VHL with the Legion for Walter Fitzroy Jr. as well, though this will not be his final one. The long-time General Manager of the Legion, his involvement with the organization doesn't end with his stepping down from that role. Fitzroy Jr. has been a staple on the Legion blueline for a long while now, and is already in the top 10 in shot blocks for the team. On and off the ice, Fitzroy Jr. has meant a lot to the organization. The leadership to run the team and set the Legion up for success is vital, and that translates to what is needed in a captain group as well. The "A" on Fitzroy Jr.'s jersey is an honour that is long overdue. Captain #88 Harry Callahan @dstevensonjr Five straight seasons of wearing an "A" for the Legion, Callahan's seventh and final season in the VHL with Toronto will see him wear the "C" for the first time. Being voted to be Captain of this group has been a career goal for Callahan, and this honour is one that is very much appreciated.
