Goalies on the mind:

I was already considering writing a quick article this week based on a few questions and banter in the Vancouver locker room about who was more likely to get into a fight first between Soju & Trueno since Trueno seems to be acting like a _________; I am not sure of the word so you can fill it in for me!! LOL!!

But then it became a question about does the VHL allow goalies fights? And if so, have we ever seen a goalie fight?

Let me put in nicely I am being lazy and I will not go hunt for that answer so hopefully someone can provide a quick answer!!

The other question and I don`t remember how this came up but I am sure that it did somehow as it not something I would think about otherwise but can a goalie score a goal in the VHL? If so, again has any Goalie done so?

Again, I am too lazy to look up this answer!!

I guess the last part and it is up to you to have a say is who would have scored a Goalie Goal in the history of the VHL assuming that this isn`t something allowed?

Also just as I think of this do we even track goalie points somewhere?

I guess I am asking a lot of question and I am too lazy to go find the answers!! LOL!!

I cannot say with 100% certainty but I don't believe it's possible. Coding wise a goalie would have to be able to take a shot in order for that to happen and I don't believe there's any part of the goalie decision making that can result in a shot.

Honestly as I understand it goalies don't even have as much decision making as the skaters which is already very limited. They are more or less just pawns who's attributes affect where they are in relation to the puck.

I believe someone mentioned that an own goal with an empty net has occurred in the text of the sim so theoretically a goalie could "score" but I don't think the sim tracks them touching the puck last like that for a goal or something. im no expert but someone said the own goal thing has happened. 1 source, don't remember who, could be lying.

@DarkSpyro you seen this?

I’m unsure too but I do believe we talked about what you just mentioned a little before on a podcast .. I can’t recall when it was now tho🤔  Sparks had an assist when there was an empty net and it sparked the “what if” discussion. I think we found an answer from someone (can’t remember who it was off the top of my head, sorry) and we concluded that; even if the player for team B own goals and the goalie for team A was the last to touch the puck, the goal is awarded to the last player on team A that touched the puck and the goalie of team A is just awarded with an assist😕
