The Vancouver wolves were the last team to break the victory cup curse, and come out winners of the continental cup.  That happened in season 82. It also occurred in season 81 when Vancouver did the same thing; however, in season 80 Vancouver was unable to break the curse. In season 79, Malmo broke the curse and took home the cup.

Fifteen seasons later, Malmo is faced with another opportunity to smash the curse and bring home the continental cup. Looking at the season 79 Malmo roster, I did not find any players who are currently on the season 97 roster, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t somebody on there because I did not spend too much time looking, as this is only a .com writing.  One thing that the season 97 Malmo team has going for them is their record is 10 points higher than the season 79 Malmo team. Another advantage is the fact that they are coming off a 12 game-winning streak, which is incredible.

The bottom line is if there was a team to overcome the victory cup curse, Malmo is certainly capable of doing it. Until then we just have to sit back and see what happens.

Also I don't think it was a curse before it became a curse.

You’re saying it wasnt a curse back then?  My bad.  But….. maybe it was but nobody dared to mention it until you did!!!

Victory Cup Curse started with the Vancouver Wolves three peat and the introduction of the Hybrid Era so started at the end of S82 with the last Victory Cup and Continental Cup winners; Vancouver!!

Somehow I see the wolves dancing around the cups cursing it so no one can win both in the same season!! LOL!! Even if Vancouver fell to their own curse back in S87!!
