The season is approaching quicker and quicker and that only means one thing! The Roger Eagles annual season starting interview is about to get underway!

H: Roger, welcome back. Always a pleasure to have you here in the studio!

RE: Great to be back and excited for another season!

H: So Roger, tell me, what are your goals for this season?
RE: Definitely improved stats over the season, I want to bring that Goals Against Average down to under 3 and get that save percentage around the same mark. I think that would be most ideal and very achievable with some of these new prospects coming up to the team this season

H: Are you hoping for a potential wildcard spot?
RE: That is always the goal but I know it will be a tough battle. We are probably 2 seasons away from full playoffs but you never know. If we play to our best and some of these other teams struggle I can see us being in the wildcard race. We are much improved over last season and if we can keep our average shots down to about 30 per game I think I can steal us a few wins.

H: How have you prepared for the upcoming season?

RE: I have been training almost all off-season. Improving my core skills and I think you will see a much different goalie out there this season. I know I say this every year but every year I am evolving and getting better. This is the best I have felt and I think I am close to my full potential.

H: When Ricky was drafted there was whispers in the media that this will eventually lead to you being pushed out or Ricky being traded as he wouldn't get enough ice time. What are your thoughts on that?
RE: I think that's just the media being the media, trying to stir things up. I didn't see an issue with drafting Ricky. I think he will be a great goalie in the future and teams have done well with a 1A and 1B system. I already have stated to the team that I have no problem doing that. My goal is for Los Angeles to win and get back to being a contending team.

H: You resigned last season for another 4 years, can you talk a little bit about that?
RE: I have always said I wanted to be here and help this team through the rebuild. I think in the next 4 seasons this team will be very competitive and I want to be a part of that. It's a great feeling being at a team from the very beginning of a rebuild and hopefully ending the rebuild with a championship. I think that is very achievable here and I wanted to show everyone that I am here for the long haul.

H: Thanks Roger, we wish you all the best this season and hopefully we will see the Stars back in the playoffs soon.
RE: Thanks and the playoffs for the Stars might arrive sooner then you think!

Review: 9.5/10

What a Great article! It’s easy to read, flows super smoothly. I like how you have the Host and the responses clearly labeled, if i could suggest one thing, it would be to maybe space the paragraphs out to make it look a tad cleaner. I’m a guy who likes i picture at the start of the article, those are the two things i would suggest! But overall this was a great read and you clearly know how to write a good media spot! Looking forward to the next ones!
