STZ 5,462
It has been a few seasons since I last did this. I've been pretty cold lately in the VHFL, but that trend changes now. Let me go through my Fantasy team and explain not only why I made the best picks, but why my players will have career years simply because they were chosen by me. Pick 1.4: George Richmond @badcolethetitan This is a bet on yourself type of pick. My 1C, I believe in him. Not only is he a physical presence but he's a sniper as well. Richmond had a streaky first year with the Americans in S97, but really performed near the end of the season. The first two picks in the draft were NY Defenders, so I knew I had to select my boy Richmond, because I needed some NY representation. I think this is good value at 4th pick, I'd likely have taken him first overall, simply because I think the defense players inj fantasy are a bit deeper. 2.9 Lucy Leitner @LucyXpher Leitner has been the talk of the off-season two years in a row. Last season she was brought to Malmo, and played well getting 92 points with 193 hits. This season she was moved to Prague where she will get a little blessing bump from Simon's sweetheart OD. They seem to be playing a little less aggressive at the start of the season, as Lucy has only recieved 4 PIM. This is a good thing, as I want her out getting points and layin' dat body. The EU was a damn mess last year. Prague is a team that seems to be doing things the right way, I thought I'd BLESS them by picking their top off-season addition: Let's see 100 points and 200 hits, please. 3.16 Andrew Skilton @ace_five_ This was an opportunistic pick. I was thinking of taking a forward here, but I didn't want to miss the Ace5 Train. In his third season Skilton finally broke out scoring-wise, as he was over a point per game. In his rookie season he recognized huge defensive numbers in 210 hits and 148 SB. In his fourth season, I predict he brings it all together. Over point per game, while being a force for the Legion as their top defenseman. 4.21 Spanish Moon Moth @Renomitsu In the fourth round I took what I think will be the steal of the draft. Imagine picking outside the top 20 and theres a player who has had two 200+ hit seasons and three 100+ seasons. In fact has only been under a point per game once in their career. This was an easy pick. I go back to back Legion players, but I think they look really good for S98. SMM should have a great season for the Legion, and obviously I'll be taking the credit for the blessing. 5.28 Konstyantyn Shevchenko @der meister This was not a plan. Am I inadvertently blessing the Toronto Legion? Well, for the third time in a row I select a Toronto Legion member in Shevchenko. I think Shev is on the verge of a huge breakout year. He was able to get 235 hits in his last year in DC, but kind of played more passive last season for Toronto. I'm hoping to see more hits, and hopeully returning to well-above the point per game mark. I just hope I haven't blessed this team too much. 6.33 Aleksanteri Kaskineimi-Kekkonen @Snussu Goalie picks are kind of boring. I waited till the last round because I'm too lazy to figure out which Panda was which. At 33 overall, I was able to select AKK from the Davos HC. Davos should have an easy ride to the top of the EU, and could likely be the winner of the Victory Cup. I'll take those W's (no pun intended) right to the fantasy bank. Congrats to everyone selected by me. Enjoy your career year. Go play your hearts out, and lay a couple extra hits and/or SB if you aren't hitting the scoresheet. 672 Words der meister, Triller and LucyXpher 1 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/155571-s98-blessed-team/ Share on other sites
