Banackock 8,466
Hey Doc, You Got Any of Them Jet Lag Pills? I was going to just use a plane gif in the sky, but figured this is a more realistic representation of plane travel these days with all the incidents and shitty quality/maintenance of planes. March 26th was the day of earning flight points for one player in the league. Well, at least it may of been the start of it. CJ Daniels, a former Seattle Bears player, a current Los Angeles Stars Seattle Bears Malmo Nighthawks HC Davos player and a star for the Saskatoon Wild in the VHLM, has probably spent more time in the air than he has on the ground. The player has been traded a handful of times since March 26th and if we had to do a simple guesstimation on it, we'd put the eye boggling number at 4. That's in 3 days. That's pretty neat if you ask me. Might be holding some records pretty quick if the GM's keep playing hot potato and burning their hands in the process. Guy gets to see the world for free. Teams keep trading for them. He keeps saying no. Rack those flyer points up, baby. Stick it to the man in the suit! I thought we were supposed to just be screwing Seattle and indirectly LAS because of Seattle but I guess not? Let's take a look at this, shall we? SEA -> LAS = 1,136 miles LAS -> SEA = 1,136 miles SEA -> MAL = 4,848 miles MAL -> DAV = 793 miles What this means at the time, because each respective team forced them to fly out to their locations because they're assholes (the GM's), he's flown a total of 7,913 miles during this time. That has to be exhausting - especially because it's multiple flights in just a matter of days. Back and forth, back and forth. Rumour has it, and they've also been confirmed by league unofficials from the official source themselves, but the player is currently talking with another team without the permission of the team who currently owns their rights (Los Angeles Stars Seattle Bears Malmo Nighthawks HC Davos) and while this is illegal, we're sure nothing will happen about it so the flames aren't stoked and it turns out to mimic the United States currently and the VHL turns into a full blown civil war - shout to Marjorie Green Taylor. However, for the funsies of it, if this trade were to go through (and the player has told the GM they're tampering with that he won't retire on their team - perfect time for the meet the fockers gif where the kid is like "assssssssss-hooooooooole" - he'd be adding another 4,498 miles back onto his flyer card and earning those badass points for a hopeful vacation when"retirement" sets in, woof. This would essentially bring the total to 12,411. That's pretty crazy. When myself and my partner flew from Edmonton ->Calgary ->Vancouver -> Sydney it was roughly 12,600 miles. We feel your pain. PS - If I don't have a media spot claim for next week, this will be it. THE END. jacobcarson877, Alex, Gaikoku-hito and 1 other 3 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/155779-hey-doc-you-got-any-of-them-jet-lag-pills/ Share on other sites
Gaikoku-hito 2,324
I can think of at least one other player that traveled a lot in Bob Vladovechsenkchushkin as his career was full of being traded: S86 LA to Calgary S87 Calgary to Davos S87 Davos to Vancouver S87 Vancouver to Malmo S88 Malmo to Helsinki S88 Helsinki to Vancouver So just focused on his big off season: S87 Calgary to Davos = 7,881KM (15hrs+ connections) S87 Davos to Vancouver = 8,404KM (17hrs+ connections) S87 Vancouver to Malmo = 7,188KM (18hrs+ connections) for at total of 23,473 KM or 50hrs of flight time not included days lost due to date changes!! LOL!! Also if I remember correctly usually traded for worse picks as the boy above has been a 2nd & 3rd at least yet I think Bob was always traded for 4ths!! LOL!! I think Bob was just thankful we didn`t have a team in Siberia by the time he retired!! LOL!!
