badcolethetitan 1,017
My Honest Thoughts on Every Single Team in the League Disclaimer: I'm not going to talk bad about any GMs, might throw a little shade, but that's it. Enjoy the click bait! NA Conference Toronto Legion: Somehow this team is first in NA, but they've got a decent roster. Their GM is pretty solid even though he's brand new and has already shown people he's very good at what he does. Realistically, he's probably already better than some GMs in this league and that's funny. Glad to see them succeed as I have friends on that team, keep it up. Seattle Bears: Always sneaking around in the playoffs. Bana is a mastermind and whether he's going to take out some new GM and get what he wants or bend GMs to his will, he will always find a way to compete. One of the best GMs in the league and his roster is solid. Another "dark horse" in the playoffs, but are they really a dark horse at this point if they keep winning? Calgary Wranglers: Running a 5-4-2 and being 3rd in NA is pretty solid. Leandro is a great guy and I have nothing but respect for him. An amazing GM who's able to put together a fantastic team each season and keep the window going. He's one of my favorite GMs in the league and he's very reasonable. No problems with him. Go Wranglers! New York Americans: STZ is funny in his LR. He's also put together a team on paper that's loaded with talent. This team could go far and be a sneaky playoff team like Seattle, but NYA always seems to fall short. It's most likely just RNG at the end of the day, but would be nice to see NYA finally win. Vancouver Wolves: Top 3 GM in the league in my eyes. Frank is amazing at what he does and he's able to squeeze out value in anything. He's been able to extend windows that people didn't think could be extended and he's able to get the right people to play for him. This team is loaded and will probably be one of the favorites to win in NA. Not surprised. Los Angeles Stars: Now we finally get to the interesting teams. LA feel like they're currently stuck being mid for now, but have lots of future talent. That S97 draft class will make or break this team. I think it's their final chance to make it into the post-season moving forward (with that class) or they're screwed. I wouldn't really say all of this is IRs fault, he's had unlucky retirements on him and people don't seem to want to go to LA. I think once they prove they can make playoffs and compete, he will easily be able to turn his team around. D.C. Dragons: Lots of future talent and on paper they've got a young roster. Sure there's some holes, but they're not built to win right now. They've got an interesting goalie situation so we'll see how that pans out as they both are making too much to be a backup. If teams are smart they'll just refuse to trade with DC and take their goalies so they're kneecapped. Then again, Trunov could just immediately leave and Qripll could just trade himself for free assets. Regardless, young team, they'll be good with time. Chicago Phoenix: The one time I can be toxic because it's my own team. This team is bad, but it wasn't supposed to be good. It won't be good next season. It's tanking. As for the GM myself, I haven't really been able to win anything. I've had an entire rebuild -> competing cycle done and I basically have 10 playoff wins to show with that. 10-21 in playoffs is really bad. Like insanely bad. I would rate myself a bottom GM in this league and I'm not afraid to say it publicly. If I don't get my shit together with this next rebuild and win a cup it doesn't look good for me. This time I have a different mentality, but still, need results to show for it. It's cup or bust and I'm sure people can agree that I haven't done anything with the franchise. EU Conference Moscow Menace: One of the best franchises in the league. I mean, Spartan is easily a top 3 GM and I don't think people will argue (unless they want to start shit). Spartan is amazing at what he does and his rebuilds take no time at all. He extends his window through smart trading and has built up an amazing reputation. Despite me getting traded from his team, I have nothing but respect for him as another fellow GM as he's very good at what he does. His team is insanely scary as well, but he might want to start losing so he doesn't secure first in the league and lose in the wild card. Helsinki Titans: Probably the team that made the most questionable trades in the off-season. McLovin saw it as a time to compete and well, they're 2nd in EU. He's been able to succeed with his plans in the off-season and I think it's too early to tell how those trades will end up panning out. I will say if he somehow wins the cup this season or next season, those trades despite being how "bad" some people say they are won't matter. He would've gotten a cup at the end of the day and he can laugh in everyone's face. McLovin a great dude, I need to see the villain arc out of him. HC Davos Dynamo: Surprised Davos is third, but I'm sure they'll pass Helsinki with time. Alex is a great GM and he's going to always make moves no matter what. Pretty sure this guy makes the most trades in the VHL and will ship out anyone and everyone to upgrade his team, he doesn't care. If you go to Davos, you're going to be a winning team and you will have success, but you also could be moved the next season. Regardless, Alex gets the most out of his team every season and that's all you need as a GM. Your job is to win and he's proven he can do that. Riga Reign: Interesting team because v2 hasn't had much time in office, but he's in my eyes already top half of the league like Doug as a GM. He's great to talk to as he doesn't really beat around the busy and he'll just straight get to the point, which I like. He was also in a tough spot, because it was either tear it down and rebuild or go for it and it seems he's went for it. It's an obvious gap between top 4 and bottom 4, but Riga should be able to make some noise in the playoffs. I respect v2 a ton already and he's looking to be a great GM for the future. London United: Baby Boomer is chill. I don't interact with him too much, but he doesn't cause any problems and that's a plus. His team is very young and still needs time. He's at the tail end of his rebuild and should be able to start making playoffs. Seems right now he will be able to, but he's probably going to get thrashed by whoever is in fourth place. Regardless, he's going in the right direction. Prague Phantoms: Tetricide, that name goes way back. I had him on my M team when I traded for him when he was a first gen. I still remember those days and now he's a VHL GM, how time flies! Regardless, I think his team is heavily underperforming and they need to turn it around quick. I thought Prague was going to easily be a playoff team, but it seems they're just not able to win games. I don't know why. Tetricide as a GM is straight to the point and laid back. I got no problems with Tet. I hope he makes it in. Malmo Nighthawks: Lucy is one of the best GMs at getting the most out of her players. She will make sure that they update each week. No seriously, she will let you know or you're getting sent to the E somehow. Regardless, despite people saying she made questionable moves, she's at least turned nothing into something for the Nighthawks. They won't be good for a while but they've got some great prospects and will probably be good in the future. I don't have any beef with Lucy as I think she's done a very good job since taking office as the GM. Warsaw Predators: Don't get me started about N0h. Not only does he randomly call me out on a VHL trade thread he tries to beat me in the tankathon! I don't think he understands that I will be the worst team in the league and there's nothing he can do about it, however, he can have first overall this year if I can get it for the next years . Regardless, N0h is super funny and I'm sure he knows how his team is doing. I can't wait for him to finally start winning and shut up all the haters. It will be peak. 1500+ words zepheter, Spartan, v.2 and 1 other 3 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/155907-my-honest-thoughts-on-every-single-team-in-the-league/ Share on other sites

JCarson 817
Opinion pieces are always a great read. You can't take them seriously much like the commentary of TSN. If you dig deep enough there may be some aspect of truth but then this is opinion so maybe not. Either way it was well written, easy to read and had its' funny moments so what more can you really ask for. This is also a fun article as it breaks out of the mold of the theme weeks articles that are currently filling the media spot page. Expected but not overly original. As this is my opinion and i don't have to justify it, I am giving this article an 8 out of 10 on my imaginary scale. Well done.
