zepheter 621
VHL Strength of Schedule Rankings Ā The push for the playoffs is heating up, and it is about as close as you could imagine. With the top four teams in Europe just five points apart, who will claim the top spot? On the other hand, you have a couple teams gaining on Toronto for the North American crown. Will they catch up, or can Toronto surpass Moscow to capture their thirteenth Victory Cup in franchise history? Ā How I found found the strength of schedule: Team strength is valued as one point for every ten points that team has earned in the standings. Therefore Moscow will be seven due to seventy-three points in the standings, Toronto is six, Chicago is one, and so on. I will then divide the sum of the points by the amount of games remaining to find the strength of schedule (SoS).Ā Ā Here is my SoS ranking for both conferences, with notes on a few teams regarding how it could impact their standing: Ā Europe Ā 1. London, 5.208 SoSĀ London is currently in the final wild card spot, but they couldĀ fall out if their schedule is too demanding. 2. Warsaw, 5.2 SoSĀ 3. Davos, 5.12 SoS The top teams in Europe are allĀ on winning streaks, and seven of Davos'Ā final twenty-five games are against Moscow, Helsinki, and Riga. It will be a good test to see how they compare to their conference rivals post-deadline. 4. Malmo, 4.96 SoSĀ 5. Moscow, 4.58 SoSĀ 6. Riga, 4.5 SoSĀ Axle Gunner is heating up. 7. Helsinki, 4.48 SoSĀ 8. Prague, 4.28 SoSĀ Prague has the opportunity to take advantage of their easy schedule by making a run and passing London for the final playoff spot. With some cap space, they could even add a player if they wanted to. Ā North America Ā 1. Chicago, 5.2 SoSĀ Yup, they've basically got last place locked up. 2. Los Angeles, 5 SoSĀ 3. Calgary, 4.708 SoSĀ Calgary has the toughest schedule among North American playoff teams, butĀ I can't see them falling into aĀ wildcard spot. Oh, and Adi Dassler is cooking right now. 4. Toronto, 4.56 SoSĀ 5. Seattle, 4.24 SoSĀ Currently trailingĀ Toronto for the top spot, but they've been trending upwards since last week's trade(s). 6. D.C., 4.11 SoSĀ 7. Vancouver, 4.04 SoSĀ I am skeptical about their recent trades, but VancouverĀ has a strong team that could go on a run if things start to click. 8. New York, 3.62 SoSĀ New York has by far the easiestĀ schedule that should have them coasting into the playoffs, perhaps bumping them into the top three. Ā If anybody actually reads this, who do you think wins each conference? Also, does London or Prague make the playoffs?
