Feel the Breeze: Chapter Four!

Chapter Four:

It's funny how life has a way of turning us in unexpected directions, and often when we least expect it. Little did I know, when what started out as just another practice in a seemingly endless succession of practices, my life was about to morph into something completely different. As I stood behind my goal line feeding breakout passes to my teammates, a group of familiar looking girls suddenly caught my eye as they walked into the stands.

At the center of this bevy of babes was Ella Grace, a statuesque blonde with the face of an angel and a body that would make you sit up and beg for buttermilk. Though I tried to pay attention to the drill, my next few passes missed by a mile leading coach to call me in after practice. "So what's the story with this girl who's got you all tied up in knots?" he asked directly.

"Oh, so you noticed that." I replied sheepishly. "Damn straight. Have you asked her out?"

"What?! Um... No." I fumbled about to find the words. "She's like uh, the hottest girl in school and almost every guy has asked her out, but she always says no." Coach looked at me intently for a moment or two before proceeding. "You know Chase, I think you've got all the tools to make it to the VHL, but you'll never get there unless you learn to improve your focus. Let's make a deal. For the next month, I want you to spend a few minutes every day visualizing Miss dream girl saying yes."

"Now I want you to really feel it, as though you already have her. Belief is a key component of winning, so I want you to soak in the feeling of already getting a yes. And if, after thirty days she does say yes - you have to promise me you'll do the same before every game. Only this time, you have to visualize scoring of a different kind. Sound good?" Not sure how to respond I merely nodded my head in meek agreement.

As the next month gradually unfolded, I was determined to keep my word with coach so I worked day and night on visualizing Ella Grace as my new girlfriend. With each passing day, my confidence grew and my belief in a positive outcome soared to dizzying heights. It was like every fiber of my being was wholly committed to do whatever was necessary to achieve success. The envisioned goal became my primary purpose of body, mind and soul.

When the day finally came to ask Ella out, I was positively exuding confidence. I'm not sure she'd ever seen or felt anything quite like that before, especially since she was so used to intimidating guys with her breathtaking appearance. In the end, I got my yes, but in reality I got so much more. On that day I learned a critical life skill that unlocked a whole world of possibilities, with each one providing a path to my wildest dreams and beyond.

Looking back, I often wonder how do you thank someone who took you from crayons to the Mona Lisa? Mere words are not enough. All I can say is: Thank you coach, it meant more to me than I can ever say!

Review:

Had to catch up on the other chapters. Its refreshing to see a multi chapter media spots here in the VHL. One suggestion I would add  is to add the links to the chapters into your actual story iteself. I know you have it in your Sig but some people may miss it and the story so far is not to be missed. Well done and keep up the awesome work. Looking forward to the next chapters! 10/10
