Effort: 2/2 - Stock work, coloring, jersey change, easily enough effort here.

Look: 2.25/3 - First off, the render looks a bit low quality and grainy, especially in the face. Also, the stock work isn't bad and I like the idea you have here, but the lighting is a bit too bright and makes it look blurry. I like the font yu chose for the text, but I'd do without the black brushing behind it and maybe make the "calgary" subtext smaller.

Effort: 2/2 - Again looks like a newer piece, I was actually really fond of your Hill piece so this to me is a step backwards but everything seems to be strategically used (stocks, font, placement, lighting, etc) to make an effective piece. 

 

Look: 2.25/3 - I'm going to go with Solas here to a tee. The render just really should be the focal point and I cannot stress this enough, so when the render looks really low quality, people won't want to focus their attention to it. You've got to make the flow of the graphic just draw the eyes right there, that's the moneymaker. Make it pop, do whatever you have to, in order to draw the attention in. I also think if the text was moved over and tucked into the left a little bit while also having less of the black drop shadow, it'd improve the overall look dramatically.
