Keep working on it and don't give up, you'll get to where you want to be soon enough. look: 2.5/3 - I think the background could use improvement, but it looks pretty good for what you were aiming for. Your biggest flaws are lack of blending/stock work and font usage. Never let the font get lost in the background, it's just too blended in because of the color. If it was moved over the render and changed, you would have no problem. For some tips for text check out this thread: http://www.vhlforum.com/index.php?/topic/2501-jacks-guide-to-making-not-shitty-sigs/ Focus on contrast with the background, and stick to simple fonts all in either upper or lower case.
