Who are the Calgary Wranglers?

The Calgary Wranglers have always been a dream team for Marcus Hurley he just always loved the people on the team and loved to watch them play the wonderful sport of hockey. Now the wranglers are in full rebuild mode and are not as exciting to watch as they once were but they do have the potential to be fun to watch once again soon enough.

First we have Captain Marcus Hurley.

Marcus Hurley Is a young goal scorer from a small town in Lewisporte Newfoundland. He never had many opportunities growing up in the small town but as soon as he heard about the VHL he had to try it out. Everyone had very low expectations on Marcus, his player agent “Cuffy” is not well known for recruiting good prospects to the VHL. He recently recruited Lucas Batt and Zach Cuff. Both were failures as players. Marcus on the other hand has been lighting it up since joining the wranglers. He had a great rookie campaign and now his sophomore year is just as good or even better. Marcus is a great captain for the squad and is very vocal in the locker room.

Next we have assistant captain Jarome Iginla.

Iggy was sick of the NHL and never winning cups so he said fuck it and joined the VHL. Iginla is Hurley’s wing-man, they have become very close to one another since joining the wranglers. Jarome had so much potential when he first joined but now his potential had slipped away from him. His practice hours have decreased over the season and it has affected his value to the wranglers. It would be great to see him practicing more but it is very hard to get a hold of Jarome lately as he has been very busy with his personal reasons.

The next player is assistant Edwin Encarnation.

Edwin currently re-joined the Wranglers after a season with the Stockholm Vikings. Edwin is currently leading the league in penalty minutes and has been a solid pickup for the wranglers. Edwin is a great guy to have around the locker room he teaches you many ways of getting a penalty. The tricks he has up his sleeve to get into the box are unbelievable.

We also have former assistant captain Kez Kincaid.

Kincaid has been a great pickup for Calgary ever since they acquired him last season the trio of Hurley Kincaid and Iginla have been a very strong top line for the team. Kez and Hurley lit it up last season, Hurley notching the top ten in scoring last season would have never happened if it weren’t for Kez. Hurley is very grateful to have had him on his line for so long and we could only hope that he could pump out some more practise hours for the team because he has been slacking as of late which really sucks because he had such good potential joining the league.

Some may say we saved the best for last. Next we have Robert Gow III.

Gow has been absolutely amazing this season. He has been an outstanding player to play with on the ice and has been very helpful in the locker room. Gow has also been having an all-star season this year and we are having a lot of fun watching him play for Calgary on the ice. It has been a great time since acquiring him via free agency and we hope he stays for a long time. This is the guy we will build the team around and someday Gow and Hurley will be a deadly duo if they ever play together!

Content: 3/3 - Liked the run-down of the Wranglers, and I think you guys are surprising a few people with the wins you're able to snag. Now only if you had a long-term goalie...

Grammar: 2/2 - Not taking off for now because there weren't too many errors otherwise, but in the future, you have to get better with comma usage. If you have two subjects and two verbs in the same sentence (for example, "Gow has also been having an all-star season this year and we are having a lot of fun watching him play for Calgary on the ice") there has to be a comma before the conjunction (in that example: "this year, and we"). Otherwise, the sentence is a run-on sentence. There were a lot of those in here.

Hurley he just = Hurley. He just (needs to be two sentences)

wranglers = always capitalize as it's a proper noun

Lewisporte Newfoundland = comma between city and province

Encarnation = Encarnacion

Presentation: 1/1 - Nailed it.

Total: 6/6

(Leaving open for now since there wasn't much time before the grade)
